Upon reaching home, Erica was greeted by the unfriendly faces of her aunt and her cousin, Selene. Two years younger, only thirteen but could get Erica scolded by her dramatic tantrums.
When Erica entered, Aunt Hollens was having a hard time getting Selene to eat the vegetables. "Selene and I have eaten the dinner. Your is kept in the kitchen. Have it!" The last two words were spoken with extreme sternness.
"Smack her, Erica. She is such a bad lady. Hit the vase on her head, might die, easier for you." Erica was influenced by the demon in her, she could see him whispering in her right ear. She picked up the vase from the table when a sweet, sober voice said," Are you like this? The Erica Stephenword of France. The sweet Parisian Erica, going to smack her aunt. No, don't do that, dear!" it was the angel. Erica slowly kept the vase.
The angel was overcoming the demon when "Mamaaaa!! She was gonna hit you......with that vase." "Oh, no, no, it was, it was just...." She hesitated on the sudden blame put on her by the little devil Selene. "You little girl, gonna kill me, thank the gods that I had taken you in after the death of your unworthy parents." "Unworthy ! Aunt called my parents unworthy." Erica thought. "Don't you dare to call my parents unworthy. You are unworthy, all of you are unworthy. " She shouted at the top of her voice. "If we are unworthy, then the food in our house is also dirty, don't you dare touch anything for dinner. Go away silly girl." Anger was blazing her eyes as she slapped Selene, "Eat the food, fast, eat it."
Erica slammed her bedroom door. She was fed up of the daily household wars. Nobody could see her anger and sadness bottled inside her. Erica didn't cry easily. Neither was she an emo child nor a cry baby.
The bell rang, someone had come, of course, Jo had come, she wanted to rush out to meet him, but a war was raging.
"She, that dirty girl of your sister's just called all of us unworthy." Aunt Hollens was complaining. Jo, who was actually my uncle was murmuring something like no, she couldn't have or something.
The next thing happened so quickly that it was difficult to understand what happened first, but it actually happened in the following way; first; aunt Hollens screamed something and second Jo was on Erica's door with a plate. He was in inquiry mood.
"Did you call your aunt unworthy?"
"Yes"
"Is it true you called all of us unworthy?"
"Yes"
"Is it true you didn't have the dinner?"
"Yes"
"Alright! Can I ask why?
"Because she called my parents unworthy, first."
"But you shouldn't have. She is older you. Technically, she is your aunt, you shouldn't have. But I don't wanna lecture you, so have the dinner and go to bed."
Erica wondered how could Jo be so calm, man.
"Go to bed early. You have to start school tomorrow."
"School??"
"Yes, Woodstock school."
