Chapter 1

AIRI POV
I woke up to the sound of police sirens coming from outside. I stretched and got up from my bed and walked to the window trying to see what was going on.

Two black men were getting arrested for who knows what, and the police were being brutal. this happens like every other day.

Since I was already up I went and checked my phone looking for notifications. Two messages from "Ma❤️"
She wants me to come over today.

I have things to do today.
I went to go and brush my teeth and do all that stuff

One hour later*

I was finished with getting ready and everything. I was wearing a black crop top and an Olive color nice fitting jeans.

I grabbed everything I needed and walked out my apartment.

In the parking lot there was a group of males talking and smoking doing all that, and I have to walk past them so I'm gonna pretend to be on my phone

I was speed walking but they just had to say something
"Aye ma what you in a rush fo" one of them said
I just kept walking
"Aye I'm talkin to you" he said again
Atp I just ran to my car and I heard him running too, lord have mercy
I got to my car unlocked it got in then locked it before he could open it
He bent down to the window level knocking on it

I studied his face. Yellow teeth, red eyes, ungroomed hair, just looking a whole mess. I wasn't having it so I put on my seat belt and backed out of my space.

15 minutes later*

I made it to the grocery store

As I was shopping this little girl she looked about five came up to me and tapped my leg.
"Cuse me miss I no find my uncle" she said

Lord. 

"Ok honey where was the last place you saw him" I said

"The the.....I don't know" she said looking down

"Ok hun lets go try and find him" I said holding her hand and pushing the cart
We walked all the way down to the frozen food aisle and I saw a tall brown skin man looking down at his phone with the freezer open and a cart

"That's him" the little girl said 

"Ok" I said walking towards him

"Excuse me sir, your niece was looking for you" I said

He looked up and ...whew chile, looks on point.
"Really I thought she was right here the whole time, sky why did you wander off" he said staring me up and down

"I was bored and you were on your phone" sky said walking over to him

"Maybe you should watch her instead of being on your phone" I said 

"I don't need you to tell me what to do with my niece" he said looking me dead in the eyes

"UNCLE TRWAY DONT BE MEAN TO HER" sky yelled
That's his name

"Yeah uncle tray, I'm the one that brought her to you, she could've been kidnapped" I said 

"Hm ya right cakies"he said licking his lips

"Excuse me, what was that" I said appalled

"Cakies" he shrugged

"What the hell is that" I said

"Your name, you got a lot of cake on you" he said winking

"My name is Airionna" I said bluntly I don't do "nicknames"

"No your name is cakies" he said bluntly

"That's the most retarded name ever" I said 

"That's what you think" he said smiling

"Anyways, I have to go" I said rolling my eyes smiling

"Ard see you around cakies" he said putting sky in the cart

I started walking away
"Uncle were you fwirting with her" I overheard sky say

I just heard him laugh after that.
I smiled, you don't find guys like that around here.
