Chapter 3

AIRI POV

I woke up to quietness and a blank TV screen. I rolled over and took my phone off the charger, and I went on social media, nothing new. Then I checked my messages, none as usual. I don't have friends because around here people are some real live snakes, and I don't have time for that.

I made my mind up yesterday that I was gonna go see my mom, so I got up out of bed. I brush my teeth and wash my fave then I hop in the shower.

After the shower I put on a yellow tube top with a jean jacket and black leggings. Then I flat ironed my weave. 

I went to the kitchen grabbed a breakfast bar and headed out the door. Today the men weren't there so I was relieved.

30 mins later*

I pulled up in my moms driveway and got out the car. I did my little knock routine so she knows its me. She gets paranoid a lot.

She opened the door and gave me a hug. Me and my mom have always had a really close relationship.

"Hey baby" she said in the hug

"Hey ma, how you been" I said letting go

"That's what I called you hear for" she said walking to the living room, I followed behind her with a concerned face

"What's goin on ma" I said studying her

"Babygirl I'm sick" she said looking down

"What do you mean your sick, what kind of sick" I said, my foot beginning to go up and down

"Calm down baby" she said

"Ma just tell me" I said

"I have cancer" she said, and that was the last thing I heard before everything went black

TRAY POV

I was walking through the mall trying to find a good clothing store to shop at. All the stores were just the same, all having the same things. I decided to go to the food court to get something to eat.

I got in line for chick fil a, and I got my usual meal. The lady hands me my food and I go look for a place to sit. 

Then I spotted someone that looked familiar. She was eating her food minding her own business. So I walked over to her and sat down at the seat across from her.

"Excuse me si- wth do you want" airi said looking up noticing it was me

"Heyy aiiirrriii" I said taking out my food

"Bruh why are you getting comfortable, LEAVE" she said 

"No" I said

"Omfg, I don't have time for this" she said. I studied her face and she just looked stressed 

"What's the matter with you, you look down" I said

"Are you saying I look bad" she said making wide eyes

"No no no, you don't look bad at all, matter of fact you look quite yummy" I said raising my eyebrows

"Ew, your trifling" she said shaking her head

1 hour later

Me and Airi were still talking at the table we forgot what time it was.

"Ard Tray I have to go, I have business to do tmr" airi said getting up

"Before you go, can I get ya digits" I said taking out my phone

"I don't usually do this, but ok" she said taking my phone putting her number in it

"Thanks" I said taking back my phone

"Okay, see you later Tray" airi said walking away waving. I waved back at her watching her walk away.
