It was an early evening, I and my little bro papyrus were having fun in the snow. "Sans I bet! I can make a better snowman!" He yelled while laughing. It was peaceful, I didn't have a worry in the world. Around the time monsters and humans who fell got along pretty well, since we believe in second chances thanks to our king. Papyrus had fun seeing his majesty daughter, Chara. She was a kind-hearted girl, especially to her bother Asriel. They would always stick together no matter what.

They visit often when they have the chance and I even got to meet the man himself.

Everything was perfect.

A few years pass and papyrus was six at the time. I left him home alone for a few minutes to get food for the night. Yes, we had a house but we didn't get food often, so I stayed a hot dog salesman until I find another job. It was night, everyone was in bed by now, we'll most, and grillby's was open for another hour or two so I decided to grab and go. I enter the place "hot as usual I see wonder why this place wasn't burned down yet"

"Oh sans I didn't see you" I sat down and he passes a mustard bottle "on the house"

"Thanks, But I'm not gonna stay long this time, papyrus is home alone and I promise him I won't stay out late again"

"He quite worry about you at this time"

"Yea, But Why wouldn't he, you never know what could happen"

"True, so? What would it be"

"Two burgers and fries, and make papyrus less salty"

"Gotcha" he walks to the back to prepare the meal. I take a couple of sip of mustard and watch tv until my food arrives. What I saw was horrible. The kings Son a daughter was killed by Humans from the surface. The king was so devastated and enraged that he claims that if another human enters the underground, it will be killed on sight. Most monsters agreed and others didn't want to hurt them.., but that was never a choice. Grillby came back with my food. "Here you go sans" "uhh thanks, so Grill's"

"Yes sans"

"Would you hurt a human"

"If I had no choice.. why? is something wrong"

"Uhh, I rather for you to find out" with that I grab the food and walk out. The streets were quiet, just a minute ago monsters were out and about.

A few minutes of walking I finally made it back to the house. Papyrus was waiting for me on the couch. "I told you not to be late again!" Even when angry, his high pitch voice made it less intimidating. "Wow, I was out longer than expected" I pass him his food and grab mine. We both sat in front of the tv watching random things. "Sans" papyrus said in a shy voice

"Yea bro"

"If a Human come down here would you kill it"

"You have seen it too" he nods and looks down "would you?" He said waiting for my response. "Only if it threatens your life, Yours is more important than mine"

"Then I will protect you!" I giggle at his response "your too innocent"

"Am not!"

"Are too"

"Then from this day forward, I will fight anyone, I will be the best of the best! I will be a royal guard!"

"Heh yeah you will," I said holding back laughter, papyrus was too innocent, he wouldn't hurt a fly, or... so I thought.

A couple years later papyrus changed, he didn't want to spend time with me or he just wanted to be left alone. And at the time humans stop falling for a while, that was, until that day.
