Soft, broken sobs filled the bunker as a male prepped himself for what he was about to do.  His mousy, black hair was disheveled, his vest and white, button-up shirt wrinkled.  Tears streamed down his cheeks as he looked at the zombie that was once his comrade, his friend...his father figure.

"M-m-Maxis," he whimpered, choking back a sob.  The zombie replied by growling and gnashing it's teeth at him.  The young man no older than twenty-five jumped back, shaky hands reaching for the bone saw to quickly perform the operation.

At the end of it, the brain was quickly preserved in a jar before three other men dashed into the room, each with a gun drawn and pointed at the man behind the table.  The doctor slowly set the bone saw down before looking at his blood-covered hands and arms in fear.  This is what had to be done, Maxis had requested this of him, but he hated himself for it.  He felt hollow, alone...empty.  He choked back another sob as he thought of what he had just done.

The first one to lower his weapon was the Japanese soldier, somehow feeling sympathetic for the German.  He quickly rose his gun again when hearing the groans and screams of the undead.

In fear, the German doctor looked up when hearing sounds of a large robot, lights flickering above them.  This caught the attention of the other three as well.  As quickly as he could, he pushed the other three out of the way, the robot stepping on top of the bunker.  Miraculously, the ceiling didn't cave in, but a piece of concrete fell onto his left foot, effectively breaking it.  There was no time to deal with it now, though, he had to save this world from destruction.  He quickly stood, wincing in pain and trying to hide it.

"Quickly, ve must hurry!" he exclaimed with worry lacing his voice.  The Jap quickly stopped him.

"We must wait, you are wounded," he frowned, amber eyes flickering with worry before returning to their emotionless state.  He carefully helped the German to lay on one of the metal tables while the other two went to fortify the barricades.

"Nikolai believes introductions are in order.  Nikolai is...well, Nikolai.  Nikolai Belinski," he chuckled, turning to the American soldier.

"Tank Dempsey, corporal in the marines," he gruffly replied.  Anger seemed to be the only thing etched into his features; anger at the German for all the shit they've been put through.

"I am Takeo Masaki, an envoy of the emperor," the Jap nodded before turning to the German doctor.  A frown graced his features when seeing how broken the doctor looked, feeling bad for the German.

"Edvard Richtofen," he whispered, not saying anything else.

Fate had brought these four men together, hating each other, but perhaps more would be in store for them.  Adventures and heroism with death around every corner.  Perhaps friendships could blossom between the bitter enemies.  And perhaps friendship will become more.
