Invisible Man

(Authors Note: This is based on the book "Invisible Man". I haven't read the entire book yet, but when I read the prologue it seemed to fully describe the character and how he felt, and this was my interpretation of it. It really is quite a good book. Mainly based on racism, but it has many other themes. Hope you enjoy my poem, and hope it inspirse you to read the book, just as the book inspired me to write this poem. <3 Love you wattpad.)   

I am an invisible man.

I am not a floating body that haunts the land.

I'm simply not recognized.

I am an invisible man.

I am an unnoticed man.

Im not one who hides behind his hands.

I am simply ignored.

I am an unnoticed man.

I am an unseen man.

It is not in shadows that I only stand.

I depend on light.

I am just an unseen man.

I am a nightmare of a man.

I live in a world full of sleepwalkers.

To me they're just dirty talkers.

I am a nightmare of a man.

I am a dark man.

My skin color reflects their thoughts.

In there eyes Im not a man, Im a prop.

I am a dark man.

I am a violent man.

They treat me with little acknowledgement.

I beat them with resentment.

I am a violent man.

I am a nonexistent man.

I continue to be pushed by those who are light.

I begin to question if I am truly alive.

I am a nonexistant man.

I am an invisible man.

Burned and beaten by the racist man.

I simply want to be accepted, real.

I shouldn't be the invisible man.
