Through it All

Chapter 6

        "Hey! You’re that spider guy on YouTube, right?" someone yelled from the ground.
        "Call me Spider-Man!" Spider-Man called.
        "Okay, Spider-Man. Do a flip. Yeah!" the man replied. Spider-Man did a flip and people cheered. Y/N waved slightly from next to the random men. Spider-Man waved back and swung off. Y/N smiled and walked off.
~~~ Time Skip ~~~
        "Hey, Happy. Here’s my report for tonight. I stopped a grand theft bicycle. Couldn’t find the owner, so I just left a note. I helped this lost, old Dominican lady. She was really nice and bought me a churro. I just feel like I could be doing more. You know? Just curious when our next real mission’s gonna be. So, yeah, just call me back. It’s Peter. Parker." Spider-Man said to the phone. He hung up and muttered to himself.
          "Hey, Spidey." Y/N whispered, using a small wind storm to fly up to him.
          "Hey, Y/N." Spider-Man stated. He was fiddling with his web shooters, and one fell. Y/N reached for it and Spider-Man grabbed her waist. He pulled her up and lifted his mask to look into her eyes. The silence between them lasted only a few seconds.
         "Thanks." Y/N cleared her throat softly. Spider-Man let her go and took a step backwards.
          "Anytime." Spider-Man replied.
          "I should get going." Y/N told him.
          "Oh, okay." Spider-Man responded as Y/N got ready to fly down, "Y/N!"
          "Yeah?" Y/N asked, her heart beginning to race.
          "Are you planning to go to Homecoming?" Peter questioned.
          "I don't have a date, so probably not." Y/N said.
          "Oh. W-wanna go with me and Ned?" Peter inquired. Y/N nodded. Spider-Man smiled and put his mask on. Y/N flew down with a windstorm again and left Spider-Man on the building.
        "Yes!" Spider-Man exclaimed.
~~~ Time Skip ~~~
        "Hi. I’m Captain America. Whether you’re in the classroom or on the battlefield-" the gym video began. Y/N sat behind Ned and Peter.
        "Do you know him too?" Ned whispered.
        "Yeah, we met." Peter replied.
        "Fitness can be the difference between success or failure-" the video continued.
        "I stole his shield." Peter told Ned and his eyes went wide.
        "Today, my good friend, your gym teacher, will conduct the Captain America Fitness Challenge."
          "Thank you, Captain. Pretty sure he’s a war criminal, but I have to show these videos. It’s required by the state. Let’s do it." the gym teacher gestured for the students to disperse into partnerships. Y/N partnered with Michelle, but she kept her nose in her book, so Y/N talked with Peter and Ned.
         "Do Avengers have to pay taxes? What does Hulk smell like? I bet he smells nice." Ned began to ramble.
         "You have to shut up." Peter said as he did the exercise.
         "I know you like him." Michelle whispered in Y/N's ear. Y/N glared at her and Michelle smirked. She went back to her book and Y/N turned back to the boys.
         "Well, what about the Spider-Man?" Liz asked.
         "It’s just Spider-Man." her friend responded.
          "Did you see the bank security cam on YouTube? He fought off four guys." Liz told her friends.
           "She’s crushing on Spider-Man." her friends giggled.
           "Kind of." Liz muttered. Y/N looked at Peter and he looked at her. For a minute, they just stared at each other. Then, Ned spoke, bringing Y/N and Peter out of their trance.
          "Peter and Y/N know Spider-Man!" Ned exclaimed. Y/N's eyes went wide.
         "N-no we don't, Ned!" Y/N got to her feet and Peter followed.
         "Yeah, sure." Flash said sarcastically. Y/N glared at him.
          "I’ve met him, yeah. A couple times. But it’s-" Peter began.
           "Through the Stark internship. Yeah, well, we're not really supposed to talk about it." Y/N finished.
           "Well, you are welcome to come to my party tonight." Liz said as her group of friends headed to the locker room.
         Peter stared at Ned and whisper yelled, "What are you doing?"
         "Helping you out. Did you not hear her? Liz has a crush on you. Dude, you’re an Avenger. If any one of us has a chance with a senior girl, it’s you." Ned responded.
          "Ned, come here." Peter grabbed Ned by the arm and basically drug him to the locker room. Y/N tried to listen, but was ushered into the room by the teacher.
