Chapter 3

Vincent's POV

Did you ever felt like slowly dying because of the things that happened to you, and all of them just came to you, at the same day? I experienced it, when my twin brother Asher and I were still 10 years old.

Flashback

I am at my father's house, and I am talking to a psychologist.

"How are you Vincent? Are you feeling okay now?" he asked. I didn't answer him, I just shrugged it off and just continued staring outside. Outside, I see my father and my brother playing, they're so happy. I am happy too, but something's missing. Then all of a sudden, my father and my brother stopped playing and I think they went inside the house. "Vincent, can you please tell me what happened so that I can help you?", oh right, this psychologist is interviewing me for the first time.

"Don't worry, because I also listen to other people's problems. Not just you." he added.

"Okay"

"I have a twin brother named  Asher Kris and he's like a little brother to me. I don't know what to do because of a real nightmare that happened last week. What happened? I-i don't know how to say this, I don't know the right words for me to use, but I'll say it, for the sake of my future."

"Last week, December 07, 2008, my parents divorced. They filed for a divorce like last month and they divorced last Friday. It was heart breaking, I think our father still loves our mother. I feel it."

"Last month, they're always quarelling in secret, I know it because I always hear them. It kept getting worse... I knew the reason why our father broke up with her and filed for a divorce, it's because our mom had a personality disorder. When they finally divorced, my father didn't want our mother to be in vain so he put her into a mental hospital. It sucks, really."

"3 hours passed after the divorce, Asher and I went to her room, we visited her... we just went to see her and then we went home. Our father was in his room, we wanted to go to him and hug him, but we couldn't do it. It hurts."

"We heard a telephone rang, and it was in our father's room. And then we heard him shout, we went out of our rooms and saw him running past our room, he didn't see us, so we followed him. We shouted and it caught our father's attention. He stopped and said that our mother's at a hospital and she got into an accident. We went inside the car, and quickly went to the said hospital."

"When we arrived, we immediately went to the operation room. We waited, waited and waited. After an hour, a doctor went out of the room and we approached him. The doctor asked if we are the family of the patient and we said 'we are'. Then he announced something that we couldn't bear to hear. A nightmare, the worst nightmare. Our mother died, our mother died because of depression and her disorder. Even though our father and our mother divorced, I knew that our father still loved her."

"That's a lot... to take in, Vincent. I am sorry for your loss. Condolences to the whole family." the psychologist said. "I know, it's a lot.. thank you for listening." I replied.

End of Flashback

I still miss our mom, but I have to move on. I am already handling a company, I am old already.

I arrived at our family mansion and I am exhausted.

"Son, how's your day at the office?" father asked.

"It's okay dad, are you okay though?" I asked.

"I'm okay.. by the way, is Asher already here at the Philippines? He hadn't contacted me yet."

"Oh, he's here.. alive and well. Also, he is my employee because he's a manager of a trainee that just got here.. she's a foreigner though.. she's beautiful too."

"Okay, well please text your brother and tell him to come have dinner here. Invite the one that he manages too. By the way, what's her name?", dad asked.

"Her name? It's Chloe Wang. Why?"

It became silent for at least 5 seconds...

"Chloe Wang? She's already here?"

"Why? What's wrong, dad?"

"Don't you remember her? She used to be your best friend, but you bullied her ever since your mom died. You used to tell me that she was the reason why your mom died... don't you really remember?", dad said.

"I-I.. I don't remember.. dad..", I replied

"Well, nevermind about that then. Just call your brother."

And I did call my brother and asked him to bring Chloe with him.

I heard footsteps so I am assuming that they're already here. I am kind of nervous because dad said that I used to bully her. Does she even remember me? It's not possible, right? stupid.

"Dad! I'm home! I brought Chloe!", he exclaimed.

"And you don't even greet your own brother? Wow, you didn't miss me, I'm going to cry." I said, kind of pouting.

"We saw each other earlier. Why do I have to greet you again?" he replied and stuck his tongue out. I heard Chloe giggle. she's so cute.

Chloe's POV

the both of them are so cute!!!!!!! I think I giggled so loud. omg, it's so embarrassing!!! 

"Welcome to the Gonzales Mansion my dear Chloe." their father said.

"Hello.... sir?" I replied. I don't know what to reply!!!

"Let's go to the dining area. We could talk there and sit."

AND SO WE WENT

"Chloe Wang is your name, right?" their dad started.

"Yes sir."

"You can call me Ace... for you to be comfortable. Don't you remember me?" he said

"I believe I don't." I replied and nervously chuckled.

"I am your father's bestfriend! You used to come in our house where you were still a child, before you went to China. These two were your best friends.." he narrated.

"I didn't know..." I said.

Ah! so that's why Asher likes me... it's because he knew me, right from the start!

Their dad stood up and said something I didn't understand. "Innak lang alaen dijay photo album. Dikay agrirriri, lakay nakon." (I am just going to get the photo album. I'm already old, don't get annoyed.) , and he smiled to me.

umm .... I feel like this is going to be something that is embarrassing ...

ahhh! please! don't!!

That's it for today! I am so sorry for not updating much. I am super busy with my studies and our last semester ends on the last week of June and we have to do our NC2 assessment also.
