'Home sweet home' was not how I would describe returning back to Ridgeway. As soon as I stepped foot off that plane everyone's eyes were on me, like I was some type of celebrity or some shit. I didn't like it one bit and the wait for my mom to pick be up from the departure pick up was nearly ten times worse. Having to find any and every little thing to occupy your time and attention just not feel the eyes on you watching your every move. At one point I saw the guy that was sitting next to me on plane in a trench coat, sunshades and a hat. I tried to catch up to him to ask him a few questions but gave up on that hope once he boarded the bus. About 15 minutes after that my mother arrived and I felt relieved to be in an area where it felt loving and warm, instead of cold.

" Hijo, i'm so glad you're home! Would you like something to eat? What can mommy get you honey?"

My mother said as soon as we walked through the door of the house.

"I'm fine ma." I said heading upstairs to my room to settle down.

"just let me know if I can do anything for my baby." She yelled from the kitchen

I mentally laughed at my mother's excitement. I unloaded my suitcases, and put my phone on the charger. I ambled into the bathroom and turned on the shower, denuding myself of my garments and stepping in. The warm water pellets rolling down my skin felt refreshing and I felt everything get lifted off my shoulders. After bathing my worries away and getting dressed I headed downstairs to catch up on things with my mother.

" You know things haven't been the same since Chres- ,she briefly paused and cleared her throat checking for my response before continuing,

disappeared and you left Ant."

I shifted from my position in the chair into a more comfortable one because talking about losing the love of your life isn't the thing you most be comfortable with.

I simply nodded in response to her statement, trying not to further the conversation. Her eyes sobered as she looked at me and sighed, as I continued to stare into my mug of hot chocolate she prepared.

She rested her mug on the counter, stood up and insisted we go make dinner. Of course knowing my mother she wanted something to make for dessert due to my return so she had me go to the market.

At the Market

I was in the dessert aisle looking for something my mother and I could eat, when I heard a muffled yet familiar voice. I tried to pay no mind to the voice because ton of people have similar voices. Retreating back to my previous task at hand, I looked at that cakes and was debating on if I should buy red velvet, lemon sponge cake, or just chocolate. Then I heard the voice again, this time clear, as clear as day. My heart stopped, I looked up from the pastries and turned to where I thought I heard the voice, but only saw a muscular silhouette walking away. Instinctively I followed suit, by the time I turned the corner, I could only catch a glimpse of the face of who owned the figure and for a split second I thought it was Chresanto,

'Chresanto is dead Jacob, that wasn't him.'

In a hurry to get out of there, I grabbed the chocolate cake and hastily headed for the exit. I hopped in my car and headed straight home.
