Changing in a New Way ~ Kai x Lloyd

Chapter 5: Betrayal

~Cole's POV

"Oh I couldn't get them, I had to take care of some business"

Was Kai really the one who was doing this to Lloyd?

I buried my face in my hands. I couldn't even make eye contact with Kai..

"What do you mean business?" Jay asked

"I don't think I'm ready yet" Kai said.

I looked up and saw Jay looked very confused. I actually had no idea what that meant either.

"WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN MY PEANUTS!?!?" Jay screamed.

I gave a small chuckle. Jay was never good at coming up with excuses, he could come up with the most bizarre and random things.

"Just ending something, I wish I didn't have to do this"

I panicked and made eye contact with Kai

"Could you wait here for a moment? Jay and I will be right back"

"Sure but make it quick I want to go to bed soon" Kai said.

"It won't be long" I said nervously.

I grabbed Jay's arm and yanked him aside.

"What are we going to do? Lloyd does not want Kai going into defensive mode and acting all crazy when he finds out that someone is hurting Lloyd. He inspected all of us last time Jay and I'm not doing that again" I said

~Jay's POV

Cole was panicking too much.

Although I have to admit Kai's inspections are pretty scary. Nobody could even go near Lloyd for a few weeks because of how protective he got. We don't want to have Kai doing that again. Lloyd can be useful sometimes.

"I can't think of any more ideas we're gonna have to let Kai sleep with him tonight and hope nothing happens" I said

"What if Kai is the one who's hurting him though? He mentioned taking care of business. I don't want Lloyd to be in danger by our own teammate" Cole said in a serious tone.

"I'm sure Lloyd can handle it, he is the green ninja after all" I said

"Okay.. I might regret this but I think your right"

~Cole's POV

I never think Jay is right and I'm shocked that I'm letting this happen. I will regret it if I'm the reason Lloyd was put in danger.

After Jay and I finished talking we walked back out into the hallway.

But when we returned, Kai wasn't there.

"Oh did he really do that to us?" Jay started to get angry.

I ran down the hall back to Lloyd's room and saw the door was slightly open.

I peered in and saw Kai laying next to Lloyd.
