Annie's POV
Jim suddenly jerked opened the door, pointing his back and mouthed 'out'. I took my bag and he mouthed 'leave it'. So I took out a smaller bag from inside getting first aid and some thin clothes. I slung the smaller backpack on my shoulder and trailed of to where he's heading with her by my back.
He opened the door next to our door, went into bathroom and pressed some stone or ceramics, the floor tiles cracked open showing staircase for one. We walk in line quickly, we get into a dungeon maybe? The air is creepy in the underground. I heard the flooring closed as we walked farther. It leads to a river in the forest.
"Is there a shortcut to go far?" Jenny asked.
"No there isn't, it's not far from the city anyway, why?" He said, still exhausted.
I brush her cheek. "Are you okay?"
She nodded. "I'm okay."
"Really?"
"Yeah." She shrugged.
He grimaced. "They won't find us, it's a secret escape remember?" He nodded to himself. "We'll get to my other friend's house, they'll be alright, we're assassins after all." He chuckled.
We walked by the river that lead to a city, referring to him. It's more of a village actually with all the grass and fresh air like in the mountain. We walked past several blocks to reach that place. The lights being turned off one by one, it's early in the morning. We stopped and turned right, walked into alley, the house is at the end of it, a big house. Another mansion.
"We're all rich if that what you wanna ask." He chuckled. He knocked on the door by rattling some rounded metal hanging by the wooden door.
"Hi, Jim." She eyed us. "Hi there, come in."
I nodded and hold her hand as we stepped inside. It's half than the house before but so neat and tidy, as what expected from a lady. "I'm Mary." She shooked our hands.
"I'm Annie and she's Jenny."
She smiled. "I know who she is." She pointed to the dining room. "Let's eat."
"Thanks." There's a lot of bread on the table put in a big topless can, some jam and butter put neatly by the curve of the can, a pot of tea with several cups hanging by the metal wire in star shape. I looked at the window. There's another building, I wonder if it's also house or storehouse, cause it's small, uhm... Well... Kinda small if I compare it to this house, not even the half of it.
She spotted my eyes, perhaps, she looked at thing that I'm seeing. "It's a barn, there's and escape there if you gotta go, I think Jim remember it."
He nodded.
"Are you her girlfriend? I always knew she's into girls, but never seen one clinging around." She smiled. "She had left some guys that's going out with her saying 'it's boring'." She mocked her and laughed as Jenny hissed.
Hmm... Wait... Does that means she remember? Everything? Now she's just fooling around? Oh, great. I wanna yelled and get mad at her but what if I'm wrong? What if she just doesn't like what she said? Oh, don't accused someone, dear. I sighed.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" She asked me, she sat across me.
I shrugged.
She nodded.
They stared at me for a while and dive back to their food, digging it and swallow it loudly and burped. Eww ... Disgusting.... I scrunched my nose.
"Any news?" He asked her in whisper.
"They search through all your friends, so you gotta leap one after another house or go somewhere far." She said calmly. "Not all your friends is ally, note it."
"Will do."
"Good and don't worry they won't know unless you leave a trace and you know we can't lie to them." Her brows furrowed looking a tad worried.
"Shall we go now?" I asked as their eyes dropped on me. "Sorry."
They kinda laugh chuckled. "You can get something first, like pocket knife, blade or shotgun or simply shower is okay."
"Some small weapons, please." Jenny finally said a word. I glanced at her but she ignored it. "If you don't mind, tell us an abandoned place so she could practice self defense."
She nodded. "Fine." She smirked. "I'll give you a map with a hidden map to a safer place, but you should wait while I draw it." She tapped her chin. "Take them with you and hide in that chamber will you?"
He nodded. "Aye, aye captain."
We walked out of the dining room to the left, there's several door sized hole to walked out to the garden, beautiful orchids blossoming. We turned right and out of this building to the smaller one, the barn. We stepped on stones as path to lead there in between grass and flowers and some small trees. I like this house, soothing.
He slid the log on the doors and let it fall to ground. I gasped as we enter it. It smells. He went pass the horses and stop before the last, move straws and pulled a curved metal, no ladders, he jumped into it, a small hole for only one person at a time. Jenny and I followed as he pulled the small door down. We walk for a good several miles till we stop at another door and he opened it. A nice chamber.
There's decorative can like glass without lids for candles hanging or nailed to the wall, a big couch and a king sized bed in the middle, a cupboard and drawers stacked neatly. He grab the end of the bed and pushed it so it standing, plastered by the wall, there's weapons under it. She even got machine gun, chainsaw and grenades. What a scary girl.
