Falls to Chaos...

"Sandwiches. Healthier option." I smiled, getting everything out. "Checklist!"

Mayo.
Onion.
Lettus.
Bread.
Cheese.

I check the fridge for a second time. "Huh... No meat. Didn't Devin say I could stop by if I needed anything.....? He's not that far," I looked around as if I expected someone to answer.

"Why do I live alone?? I'm here walking around and talking to myself like a crazy person. I need to get out more....."

I put on a cute jacket because it's fall and the sun had gone down already. Exiting my apartment, it occurred to me that no cabs would be out right now other than from the airport to hotels. So I had to walk.

"It's not that far...." I reminded myself. I bought a cheap water bottle with the extra cash I had, and began my trek.

Up 14th street,

Down Virginia Avenue.

Turn left on St Agatha.

Then right on Bridgeway.

Turn into the Apartment Complex on Rainbow Drive
Room 314.

Eventually, I reached his apartment.... It was farther then I had estimated. I finished the water and hopped in the elevator, catching my breath. As the doors slid open at my floor, I hesitated.

I just walked 20 minutes for a sandwich, Wow.

I shook my head again and stepped out, following the hall and knocking on the door marked '314.'

"Damn," I heard Devins voice coming from the inside, along with a girls giggle.

"Devin? You in there."

"Shut up! Hey babe! What are you doing here?" I could hear footsteps coming to the door.

"I just needed some lunch meat. You said I could come here if I needed anything."

"Right! Uh yeah." I heard some scrambling, before realizing he keeps a spare key in the planter.

I unlocked the door.

"How did you get in!" He yelled.

"The door! You keep a spare key!" I panicked. He's never yelled at me before.

"Get out!" He yelled, louder than before.

"Why!" I yelled in return.

A different voice, a high pitched voice came out from the corner.
"What's going on, Baby?"

"Who is that!" I yelled.

"That's my cousin." He seemed more calm, "The one I told you about."

"Your cousin calls you baby," I asked incredulously, a tear streamed down my cheek.

"Well, my cousin is a guy... So well. I was going to tell you." He started to hesitate.

"Tell me what?" I questioned,

"I'm gay." He said firmly.
A girl, most likely his "cousin" came out of the hallway.
"What babe. You never told me you were straight!" She was in nothing but a skimpy bikini. I don't wanna know what they were doing. Tears streamed down my face.

The silence was ominous. You could cut the tension with a knife. The girl, saw me wrapped her leg around his then pushed so tightly against him for a kiss it was like she was trying to be his clothes.

"Gay huh." I took the clip I was wearing all day, the cute butterfly thing he got my for my birthday, and threw it off the balcony. "Don't bother calling me. Have fun with your little girl toy here."

I ran down the hallway back to the elevator. My hands shaking as I cried, there was only one person I know who could help me right now. His number never changed.

"Alec..." I hesitated. Pressing the call button.

"Hey, love didn't think you'd call." He said, in the smug voice I longed to hear, for the longest time.

"A..A...Alec." I cried, trying hold everything in.

"What. Happened." His tone got dark, almost cold. I've never heard him so serious.

I told him what happened, I was instructed to come to his house, and hang out with him to keep my mind off it. He offered to come to get me, he also said he'd buy me another Double White Chocolate Latte with Caramel Drizzle. Just because he knew that sugar always makes me feel better.

With that, I spent the night at his house.

I woke up to a loud knock at the door, I paused for a bit, I could hear the rain dripping on roof, even though the rain was light. I knew somehow, I'd be in for a storm.

"Police! Open Up!"
