Hot.
It wasn't really the season I was expecting but, bruh? Whatever.
People usually say that whenever Tokyo hits ber-months it was nearly winter. Those people are actually my friends and they must be thankful because I'm staying here, like forever. So I won't able to slap them with my luggage which is full of huge sweaters.
Oh, my nerves!
"Miss Lane?", I heard a soft female voice behind me. My heels automatically spun around to see a small-eyed woman, in a formal outfit who supposed to be the girl who'll assist me until I got out of this airport.
"Who?" I repeated, to make sure I was really the one she's speaking with. She nodded absent mindedly, which I didn't expected from her.
"Yes, Ms. Lane?" I mentally groaned and followed her as she walked towards the automatic sliding doors. As soon as we got out, a slight breeze of air brushed pass from me. It wasn't really that hot like I said from the inside. It's the sweater's fault.
"Here Ms. Lane". She announced and pointed out the black sleek car. I was gobsmacked, where on Earth did mom stole this?
The doors opened to reveal my uncle smiling, with mom inside. I slightly squealed and vowed at the both of them.
"Mom!" I queered. Then, the other front door which is beside the driver's seat, opened. Revealing my long lost mom's friend son. Andre.
"Aye". He greeted lamely with a sickly sweet smile. I returned the gesture, in more intense way to look back at my mom and uncle.
"Welcome to Japan, Liane". Uncle Tim smiled. I gave him a quick hug and turned at mom.
"How's the flight? No more nervous?" She asked, a slight chuckle escapes from her lips. And so do the weirdo beside me.
I whined lowly, "Mom?" Uncle did then chuckled when he turned away quickly before earning a miraculous glare. I sighed, "So far, okay. It wasn't really worse than I expected". I snickered. "But.." Mom looked. "it's worse".
Mom blabbered a lot as I entered and sat in the last right seat behind, beside mom who's beside with Uncle. The road trip didn't went too long and I think it was just an hour as we arrived in the main city, to see almost alike N.Y.C., except for the fact that, there are no black Americans and Blondies.
I stared outside of the window and earned a flashing neon lights and billboards. Lots of people were scattered around even the sun went down. Mom poked me, yawning, and gave me her heart warming smile which I really missed since it's been a year when she told me that she needed to go here for work. Yeah, we work, we weren't really rich.
I'm just from a working-class family and mom needs to work for my education while my dad was with his other wife which his not fault since mom was the mistress.
And then, mom called me few weeks ago before I got here that I needed to go here because I've already reached the age to stay here. Long story, I know.
So I've agreed, not forcefully. I was really waiting for this time to come though I really wanted to have a new life away from the place where my patience and limits had gone so far.
The car stopped. "Oops, red light". The driver said. "Gomen". He muttered politely. I smiled at the rear view mirror when he spotted my eyes and smiled back.
"Daijobu Ken-chan". Uncle approached, the old man nodded and started driving again as soon as the green light winks up.
"So..." Andre began, to our surprise. "How's N.Y. Lane?"
My jaw fell a bit. I didn't know that he still does know how to speak English. "It's fine". I tried to say it slowly, incase he doesn't understand.
I heard him groaned and his head titled back at my direction. "Lane, I-Am-Not-A-3-Year-old-shit-asking-a-shit-to-my-teacher". He whispered slowly. Mom doesn't seemed to heard it since she was wearing an earplugs while uncle was sleeping. Plus, I don't think the driver even understand it.
I rolled my eyes and threw my head back off the seat. "Whatever". And slept. I could hear his chuckle around when my subconsciousness tries to calm me and speak patience.
whatever.
Then I dozed off.
