***Chapter 2 Coming Soon*** It was 2:30 in the afternoon and 16 year old Emily Parker was still at the mall. She had left at 11 that morning and still hadn't gone home. She went to see a movie with her friends, Ashlynn and Elaina. After the movie, they were about to call a taxi, but then Ashlynn said, "Em, you know this is Sacramento right? How are we going to find a single taxi that's not being used?" Then they got a little..... distracted. Because right then, the most popular girls in school walked right up to them! "Act cool. Act cool! This could be our big break!" Elaina whispered as the queen bee of them all, Lindsey said, "Hey! Did you guys just see A Burden to Bear?" "Yeah we did but we were just about to leav-" Emily started but Ashlynn butted in. "Oh yeah it was totally amazing! We don't have any other plans and I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to watch the movie again." "Would you guys like to come watch it with us?" Lindsey asked. But what about-" Emily started again but this time Elaina whispered in her ear, "Just stick to the plan Em! This is our chance to become popular! And the popular girls get to date only the hottest jocks. And I know you've been crushing on Jacob pretty hard...." It's not just me E. Nearly every girl falls for him at one point or another. Remember you in 6th grade?" Emily said as the girls walked into the theater to watch A Burden to Bear a second time.

When they came out to all the festive Christmas lights and music in the mall, they immediately started talking about the movie they've just seen. "Why did he have to leave? They were totally meant for each other!" Lindsey said to her girls. They both murmured in agreement. "Thanks a lot for watching the movie with us. It was really nice having you there. Come sit with us at lunch tomorrow if you want. Bye!" Lindsey said waving to the others as she went down the escalator. "Well, I'd say that went perfectly! Ashlynn said as the girls walked outside. They went to sit at the bus stop so they could catch the next bus when it arrived. "But should we sit with them? I mean, what about Kate, Chloe, Josh, and Marcus? Are we just going to abandon them for Lindsey and her cronies?" Emily asked looking the girls straight in the eyes. "But just think. You could actually date Jacob instead of crushing on him! Elaina said poking her shoulder. Emily was about to respond when all of a sudden, her phone started to buzz. "Sorry guys, I gotta answer this." Emily said scooting over on the bus stop bench.
