Chapter 1

“Come on Cole!!! Stop being a killjoy. Let’s play!!!”

He shook his head.

“Ok, fine. Be a killjoy.” I said, leaving him to play with my friends.

Cole was a shy boy. Since we were little, we lived near each other and our families were friends. He has a little sister who I love to play with and I have a little brother who can barely walk. I would go to his house and as usual, he didn’t want to play. So I would just play with his sister. Also, his mom would make them come over and his sister and I would play while he would sit there either watching us or watching TV. I always wondered why he didn’t want to play.

Going back to the real world, I paid attention to being quiet behind the sofa. I made sure that my whole body was covered and that I never made one single sound….

“Found ya!” Bianca shouted.

“Ughh!!! Not again.”

“Hahahah!!!! I’m the queen of playing hide and seek. I found everybody then I found you!!! Man, am I good at this!”

“yeah, yeah. I got it”

“we all did” Abby complained.

“Arianna, time to go sweetie” My mom called from behind me.

“See ya later, guys”

“Bye!!!” They all said in chorus.

Getting into the car, my mom asked me, “Did you have fun?”

“Yep, we played tag and hide and seek and cops and robbers!”

“Wow, after all that, aren’t you supposed to be tired?”

“Nope, I’m fully awake. I still got a lot of energy left.” I replied with a yawn.

“Looks like your energy just finished. Night, love”

“Night, mommy” I said, lying back on the car seat as she kissed my forehead. Then she started the car and drove home.
