Rain

We stepped through the door, laughing at the rain. She shook the rain from her hair and I did the same, always looking into her deep coal eyes. She took her forest green coat off and threw it at me. Raindrops flying everywhere. I laughed and threw it back, removing my coat and hanging up. Like an adult. She cupped my fave in her hands and planted a soft kiss know my lips. Warmth shuddered through me, spiring my number limbs back to life. I brought my hand up to her face and held it tenderly. We kissed for about 10 seconds, seconds I wish could last forever. Her hands slipped from my face and into my hand. I felt the cool metal of her wedding ring against fingers. A similar ring rested on my finger, from a day where we locked our lives forever. She led me into the lounge, shoes still on our feet. Muddy footprints ran behind us. We'll clean up later. I fell backwards into the smooth fabric of our sofas, pulling her down with me. She fell next to me and laughed. She silenced when I pressed my lips against hers, taking her other hand in mine. She released her grip on me and wrapped her arms around my waist, allowing my hands to wander up her back and feel her dripping hair. My t shirt clung to my back as her hands traced my spine. All of our clothes were soaking wet, but we were ok. We had eachother. We always would. She pressed her hands against my shoulders and pushed me away, leaving us both gasping for air. "You're getting better," she laughed, looking into my eyes.
"Or your just getting worse." I giggled. She gasped and pushed my further away, a smile still on her face.
"Get those shoes of in my house!" She said, putting her hands on her hips.
"Sorry mum." I replied, throwing them off into the corridor. We both laughed and she threw her muddy boots off. I stood up and held my hand out, "Come on m'lady." She took it with a smile, starring into my eyes. "What's in the menu tonight?"
"Leftover pizza," I replied, leading her into the kitchen.
"My favourite." She grasped my hand tighter. I loved the sound of her voice. It was light and bubbly, like a breezy summer's day. I could listen to it for hours. I opened the fridge and took out the pizza box. Still holding my hand, she led me to the table. I had already put two plated out before we left. I hated waiting. I placed the box on the table and opened the lid. She took a slice out and bit off the end. I followed suit. My hair was draped over my shoulders in a red curtain, it looked like rats tails after out walk. I ignored the feeling of water droplets running down my back. All I could do was smile, I had never been so happy. She never took her eyes off mine, and mine off hers. They were like back holes, once you go in, you can never come out. And I'm not sure if I even wanted to leave. Once we finnished, she grabbed my hand and led me from the room. We could clean up later. She kept graceful over the footprints and dragged me up the stairs. I almost tripped on the middle one, but she would never let me fall. She pushed open the door to our bedroom, revealing the king sized bed covered in fluffy blankets and an assortment of colourful pillows. She jumped onto the bed, pulling me down with her. Pillows went flying as she struggled into my arms. She arrived with her head on my shoulder, snuggling up to me as one would do to a parent. I lent my head against hers and let her warmth flow through me. I pulled her as close to me as possible and held her close. We were both warm despite our soaking clothing. I grabbed the quilt from the side of the bed and pulled it around her shoulders. She closed her eyes and smiled. I did the same. I wouldn't let sleep take me untill her breathing steadied, and her heart calmed down. Damn, I loved that girl.
