I woke up on Saturday morning with the sun pouring into my room from my open window. I glanced at my phone to check the time before rolling out of bed and heading to the living room. There was a note from my mom on the counter telling me that she had to work and would be home soon. I took this opportunity to spend the day at the pool and hopefully get a tan. I quickly threw on a bathing suit and grabbed some water, my phone, my sunglasses, tanning oil, and a towel. Once I was out by the pool, I laid out my towel on a tanning chair and sat down while putting my earphones in and putting on All Time Low's album Nothing Personal.

I was out there for a good hour and a half before I heard someone unlock the gate and walk in. I opened my ear and there was hot neighbor in all his shirtless glory. Thank God for mirrored aviators so I could stare at him all i wanted without him noticing.

He sat his things down on the table before diving right into the pool. I don't think he noticed me sitting here, I wonder if he'll say something to me. He climbed the steps out of the pool and shook his hair out while walking back over to the table. I shifted slightly in my chair and he looked over.

"Hey uh, aren't you that girl in my psychology class? Athena right?" I froze. He actually knew my name?

"Um, yeah that's me. Blake?" He nodded and gave me a small smile.

"I didn't know you lived here. I just moved in with my dad in 8B." Yeah I noticed, since I've been borderline stalking you. I just smiled.

"Oh yeah, he came to my door to ask where the landlord's office was yesterday." I chuckled and he grinned at me.

We sat by the pool for another hour just talking about things. He told me about how he moved from across town, how he really liked his new school so far and, unfortunately for me, his gorgeous girlfriend. Yeah, you heard me, girlfriend.

Apparently her name is Tiffany and she still went to his old school. I hate her already, I thought to myself as he told me all about her. He seemed to be really in love with her. Of course he would have a girlfriend, I mean how could he not.

At about 2 o'clock we said our goodbyes and headed to our apartments. I called Delilah as soon as I walked in the door.

"Oh my God Del you will never believe what I just did! I was sitting by the pool, attempting to get a tan when Blake walks in! We talked for like an hour and he's actually really nice and way hotter up close. But he was telling me all about his girlfriend from his old school, but I never really had a chance with him anyways so I guess it's not really that big of a deal." I rambled on while she listened, groaning when I told her he had a boyfriend, which I didn't really understand since she had a boyfriend of her own.

"No, you can't give up you need to make out with him and then give me all the gross details!" I laughed at her request.

"Yeah, I'll get right on that Del, I'll keep you posted." I giggled as I hung up the phone and walked into the kitchen to make some lunch.

+++++++

"Athena, I'm telling you, you can't have a neighbor THAT hot and not make out with him. It's impossible!" Delilah had spent the last hour trying to convince me to kiss Blake, despite my very valid argument that he has a girlfriend. She wouldn't take no for an answer.

"And I'm telling you that he has a girlfriend! As much as I would very much enjoy making out with him, it will never happen because he seems to be completely infatuated with his, most likely much hotter than I am, girlfriend and there's nothing you or I can do about that." I sighed while she continued to stare through the oven window at the brownies we had just made.

"We make friends with him at least, maybe he has some hot friends too." She laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"You do know you have a boyfriend right? JC? Remember him?" I said sarcastically. JC and Delilah had been dating for six months and they were constantly texting, annoying as it was. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her, but third-wheeling over FaceTime wasn't really my thing.

"I meant for you not me!" She scoffed and reached up to grab the brownies out of the oven as the doorbell rang. I laughed and stood up to go answer it.

When I pulled open the door Blake was standing there, psychology books in hand, looking very exhausted.

"Uh hi, I know this is kind of weird but I was hoping you could help me with this psych paper we have to do? I don't get any of it and I noticed you're always taking notes so I kinda hoped you would be able to-" I cut him off

"Yeah of course, here come in, I'll go grab my notes." I let him in and motioned for him to wait on the couch. I went into the kitchen and grabbed Delilah's arm.

"Ow! What are you-"

"He's in my living room shut up!" I tried to fix my hair as she stared at me with wide eyes.

"Hot neighbor is in your living room right now?! Then what are you doing in here?! Go! I'll sneak out the back door so he doesn't see me!" Delilah quickly grabbed her things off of the counter and bolted out the back door. I picked up my psychology notes off the table and went back out to join Blake in the living room.

"Here, they might be a little hard to read, sorry about that. Jay talks really fast." I handed him my notes and laughed nervously. He smiled up at me and scanned the notes.

"Thank you, wow these are great, you should help me study all the time." He chuckled and kept reading.

"Yeah no problem, you can take them with you and just give them back to me on Monday in class." I smiled as he stood up.

"Great, thanks again." He walked over to the door and opened it before giving me a weird look and thanking my once again for the notes. I would give you my whole paper if that's what it took for you to make out with me, I thought to myself. I closed the door and slid down it until I was sitting on the floor.

Damn, he was probably going to kill me if he kept looking at me like that.
