The Last Kiss

Chapter 1

I finally opened my eyes.I looked up at the clock,it was way past noon;2:45pm to be exact.I groaned and moaned,stirring in my bed from one side to another,bundling up the sheets in the process.I waited for this day to come for so long but now as its here,I cant wait to get it over already.I sat up on my bed and started staring blankly at the calender.There was a big red cross on today's date-1st August,2013.I had not planned to sleep in and do nothing on this day.No!!I had planned to say my final goodbye..

I was drifting in and out of sleep when I heard a soft knock on my door."Come in!The door is open",I shouted.Carefully and slowly Rhea peeped inside my room.

"Can I come in Neal?"

"Yea Rhea!From when did you need permission to enter my room?"

A soft but weak smile came across Rhea's face,opening the door she came slowly and sat on the bed beside me.Dressed black from head to toe she looked tired,her eyes were red and puffy,like she had been crying for sometime now.When she spoke again her voice was low,almost inaudible-"I...I have been thinking about Kiara...".I cringed a little as I heard the name.Rhea saw this and composed herself and began again, "and her Dad".I looked at her this time.No matter what equation I shared with his daughter,Mr Johns would always remain an important part of my life.I placed him next to my father.He was the person I'd go to if I had any problem in my life.

"Did you go to the funeral,Rhea?"I asked.She nodded a yes.That explains the black attire."Mr Johns is not doing well.I think you should pay him a visit,Neal.He needs someone to support him in this difficult time.You know he did when you needed support.Now its your turn",and with that Rhea got up and left the room,closing the door softly behind her.

I sat there in silence.The Sun was shining bright oustside,it was a lovely day outside but in the inside,the weather was gloomy.My heart was dark and it could rain any moment from my eyes.Rhea was right.I must go and visit Mr Johns.Yea,there may have come some differences between me and Kaira but never wanted this.I never wanted her dead.....
