Confusion swallowed Tom when he turned and walked out of Benedict’s apartment. He quickly walked to the lift and pressed the sign of the bottom floor. Tom grabbed his phone and called a taxi. Who cares about the price, he thought, he didn’t want to use the underground, he just wanted to get home as quickly as possible.

Benedict watched as Tom turned and walked away. Suddenly he felt scared. What if he had just lost one of his best friends? But in the other hand, he had had to do it. Benedict leaned against the nearest wall and tried to hold back the tears behind his closed eyes. He didn’t want to cry, he decided, he wouldn’t cry. It wouldn’t make any sense. He hadn’t thought kissing Tom through, but Tom’s bafflement was not something he had expected. It wasn’t strange, though, because even Benedict wasn’t completely sure about his feelings.

When the cab arrived at Tom’s address, he quickly paid the driver and tottered out of the car. He half walked and half ran to the lift and sharply pressed the floor 14. It took about 45 seconds for the lift to get to the right floor, and after that Tom took his flat’s key out of his pocket and tried to squeeze it into the lock. When he finally got in after a minute’s fight, he collapsed to his couch and thought about the thing that had happened.  He had no clue why Benedict had done something like it. Tom had never thought about Benedict that way… Maybe. The longer Tom wondered about it, the more he started to think how good Benedict’s lips had felt against his. But it was complicated. Tom had known Benedict for years and nothing like this had never happened before. Finally Tom went to his bed, still unable to think about anything else but the kiss. It was no big deal, Tom tried to convince himself. Benedict was just pranking around with him. But for some reason, Tom knew that the things weren’t like that.
