"Holding Hands"

Golden Brain prefer to have a Villain and Underling type of relationship. He is the leader of S.W.A.M.P, not someone's friend or best buddy. When his minions disappoint them he can merely electrocute them with his advance walking cane or feed them to the sharkodiles. Sometimes he does it whenever he gets bored. But, he is noticing a slight difference in one of his minions. If he could even call her a "minion", which was Therese. She was spunky, good-natured and overall a very enthusiastic woman. Personality traits that he found very annoying. Luckily, thanks to her nativity, he could lie to her with relative ease about his plans of world domination. Yet, when it comes to their relationship, he find it very difficult to keep...a distance between her. He noticed when she did a ridiculous bake sale to rake up funds.

"Mr. Brain! Mr.Brain!" Therese called as she ran inside his lair. He was sitting in his chair, depressed about his financial woes. He groaned when he heard Therese.

"Yes Therese? What is it now?" He asked in a low tone as he turned around to face her. "Is the deer mite back on the endangered species list?"

"Oh no, they are still A-okay!" She answered with a smile. He slouched in his chair. "But I'm here for a different reason."

"Well, What is it? I'm very busy wallowing in crippling depression."

"You won't be for long!" Therese sang. His eyes narrowed.

"You're right, now I'm feeling annoyed."

"Ha. You are so funny, Boss! No, I just want you to follow me." She took a few step towards him and grab his metal hand. She pulled at him but he refused to get up from his chair.

"Therese, please...I'm not in the mood for one of your blueberry muffins." She turned back to him with a small smile.

"It's not that. It's a surprise."

He rolled his eyes. "Please; why must you torture me? Not in the mood." He pulled his hand back but her grip was surprisingly strong. She tugged at him again.

"Please, I promise you will like it!"

He let out a sigh, it was impossible to argue with her. He got up. "Alright!" Therese gave him a large smile and released a squeal of excitement. A sound that made him cringe internally. She pulled him along, leading the way out of his lair. Golden Brain eyes were narrowed. He could only hope that whatever Therese wanted to show him, it would be quick. Once they entered the corridor, he saw a few his grunts. He glanced back at Therese and his eyes widened slightly when he noticed that she was still holding his hand. It was too late to pull away when he saw his grunts snickering and amongst themselves. Their full attention on Golden Brain and Therese, who was also quick to notice them. She gave them a friendly wave.

"Hey guys! There is a surprise out back if you want to check it out!" She said.

One of the grunts nudged the other. "Sure thing! Is that where you two are spending your date?" His buddy let out a laugh but Golden Brain did not appreciate their joke. He gripped onto his cane.

"Oh I don't have a date silly, I have way too much work to do." One she turned the corner, Golden Brain took the opportunity to take out his electric cane. He zapped the two idiotic grunts where they stood and watch them fall down flat. He chuckled at their smoldering bodies before turning back to Therese. His eyes fell back on their hands. He could pull it away and walk beside her. But, he couldn't make the motion. Even with his robotic hand, he could feel her soft hand. He then saw his own hand give her a slight squeeze. Her head perked up and turned around in slight surprise. Golden Brain immediately pretended to cough into his closed fist while looking off in a random direction.

"Um, how much farther, Miss Therese?"

"Oh not far, in fact, it will be an even bigger surprise if you close your eyes."

"Ah, I think I prefer to have them open."

"But you might see your surprise before we even get there."

"Does it really matter?" He said picking up his pace.

"Yes."

He let out a groan. She turned away and he felt her fingers tighten around his own.

"Mr. Brain. I know you don't like me doing this type of stuff-"

"O-oh no, no, no!" Golden Brain said, shaking his head. "I...I didn't mean to seen, I mean, I really prefer it if you didn't but! I-!" He let out a grunt, clutching his dome. He was becoming flustered. "I...I really don't mind, Miss Therese."

"It's okay, Mr. Brain." She replied in a calm matter, opposite of his own. "But, I do not like to see you so disappointed."

His eyes soften. He came up beside her, squeezing her hand as he did. "Anything that you do Therese, whatever it is you want to show me...I won't be disappointed."

She gave him a look of genuine surprise which made her turn away from him. She chuckled softly and stroked a strand of hair back behind her reddening ears.

"Well! I'm glad you said that, now come on! Close your eyes!" She tugged at his arm when she began to run. "It's right around this corner!"

"Okay! Okay!" Golden Brain exclaimed, and closed his eyes.
