[Note: Please take note that's before Saiki knows about coffee jelly.]

13 years old—

It was peaceful. His parents were out for today, it was Saturday and there was no one to bother him. His parents were confident that he was able to take care of himself while they were gone. He sighed in satisfaction. Why can't his regular days be like this? It would be much more pleasant.

As he turned on the TV to watch his series, he got up to get a snack . He would enjoy his day off in peace without anyon—

-Ding Dong!-

He stopped everything. The Tv, the fan and even the lights in the rooms. Oh no. Not today. He wasn't going to let someone ruined is alone time. The person will surely go away after they've seen there was no one at home. He wanted to use his clairvoyance to see who was at the door but he told himself that he wasn't going to use his powers more than he just did today.

He's going to relax and he was determined.

-Ding Dong!-

'Is he not there today?'

That's right. Saiki Kusuo is not available today. He was about to calmly have his day without anyone. He could recognize the voice clearly. Why was she here? Wasn't she supposed to be doing her homework?

'Ah, I guess he's not there.'

That's right. He is not here for today. Just for today, would you please—

'I was about to prepare him some coffee jelly. Too bad I guess.'

He froze in his track. He have seen it in the market a few days before, but he couldn't afford it since he had errands for his mom. It looked incredibly good. Was he about to sacrifice a day of peace for coffee jelly made by his friend.

Totally.

I sighed.

I really wanted to show him a new dessert. I think he would like it. A bitter sweet dessert would likely be something from his taste and fit him.

I walked away from the entrance disappointed when suddenly I hear a door open wildly behind me. I turn lazily around to see Kusuo in a sweat shirt and some grey joggings. Seeing him made me smile to the fullest, making my eyes form into crescents.

'Ku-chi!' I exclaimed happily.

I ran back to the front door. Still inexpressive, he looked down at me and turned his gaze at the bags in my hands. He tilted his head towards the bag, silently asking what was in the plastic cheap container.

'Oh! These are ingredients for coffee jelly! I think you've heard of it before.' I explained briefly to him. He only nodded his head.

'I could have buy it directly from the store, but where would be the fun in that?' Simply shrugging my shoulders lazily.

I looked up at him back in the eyes, through his green glasses only to found out he returned his gaze on me.

'What do you say? Let's do some of it together?

He couldn't say no. Her smile was so joyful. She reminded him of a kid that has been given their favourite candy. He couldn't help but hear her thoughts, which only forced him to accept. If she had a tail, it would be uncontrollable. Plus, he was craving for some sweets at the moment.

He signed in defeat and she cheered, fist-pumping the air. He re-opened the lights and let her in. She was familiar with the house as his parents was quite fond of her since they were 6 years old.
They always invited her at the Saiki's household. Sometimes she could be annoying with her smug and lazy, yet cheerful personality.

She quickly set down her plastic bags on the counter and took his mother's apron. She quickly looked back at him with her signature smugly smile and rolled her sleeves.

"Alright, let's get it!"

After some time of failing, they finally made them. It almost looked unreal, like those fake McDonald advertisement pictures.

"I almost want to keep it forever."
Y/N dreamily stared at their newly made creations. Saiki said nothing as he still kept silently staring as well at the irresistible sweet. He had to agree with her. The glistening of the jello made it seemed like a plastic toy. Seeming as she wasn't going to eat it first, still gawking at the dessert, Saiki walked back to the kitchen's drawers to get the spoons for them.

Back in the living room, he gave one to Y/N. She looked at him excitingly and thanked him. Both of them were equally eager to taste the treat, even though the boy wasn't showing it much by expressions and gestures, but his best friend could tell.

They both scooped the cold dessert and lifted into their mouths to eat it afterwards. Saiki stopped chewing for a moment. He had to let this flavour melt in his taste buds. Then he felt it. The exploding bitter sweet flavour of the coffee, and the smooth texture of the jello was just amazing and perfect. He kept eating it continually. His eyes seemed more lively. His expression was one of happiness.

He looked down on the table and saw a whole plate of coffee jelly. His eyes widened a millimetre at the amount made. Didn't he made only one cup? Realizing something, he looked down at the girl, that was smiling to the fullest at him. She must have seen his joyful faces.

It was rare for him to show expressions other than his stoic usual one, making her more happy and proud of her accomplishment.

"I knew you would like it Ku-chi, so I made some more for you!" She said with happiness. His happiness was all that matter for now. She just wanted to see him smile. He didn't smile yet, but the joy he felt was more than enough for Y/N.

He didn't say anything, making her a bit disappointed. Did he not like it after all? Did she made too much? She quickly pushed away the negative thoughts, while looking down at her cup. She continued eating when she heard something that made her day.

*Thank you.*
