The stars shine bright in the dark night sky. The pale faced moon shining down softly on the Earth below as soft moans echoed through the quiet cottage.

Joey hovered above his lover, his lips tangled with hers. Tongues battling for dominance. A fight that Joey won, exploring Prim's mouth. His hand on her hip as he trailed kisses down her neck, biting the flesh there softly, causing Prim to muffle a moan. Joey trailed his kisses down to the woman's collar bone, sucking the flesh there until it was bright red. Trailing his kisses back up her neck on the opposite side, he ended at her jaw. Her hands grasping at his shoulders. Grazing the skin of his back as she couldn't help the noises that escaped her mouth.

The two had promised to save each other, until the day they were finally married, but this didn't stop the two from enjoying sessions such as this, as substitute for the future.

Pulling away from Prim's flushed skin, the ginger haired man gazed down at her lovingly. His eyes tracing her expression, love being the only emotion in his eyes, as his blue ones met her brown. He admired her features. From the dust of freckles on her cheeks and nose, to the pinkness of her lips. Taking note of the green that speckled her irises.

While he gazed down at her, she gazed back at him. The same amount of love swimming in her eyes and swelling in her heart. Her eyes travelled his strong features with a sweet smile on her lips. His ginger hair falling in her face slightly; his blue eyes pure. They reminded her of a crystal river. His lips slightly chapped but warm. His cheeks slightly flushed pink. His jaw strong. His broad shoulders on show as he slept without a top.

Some would view their behaviour as indecent, but to the couple, it didn't matter. They had been through too much together, to let something as simple as sleeping in the same bed and exchanging amazing kisses to become a problem.

"Joey?" Prim called gently as his eyes trailed back, from travelling her figure, to her eyes. "I love you."

"I love you, too." A happy smile stretched on his lips. "In fact. Tomorrow, make sure you have nothing to do. I have a surprise for you in the afternoon, and you are going to relax."

"Oh, Joey. You don't have to do anything for me."

"No. I do. You work tirelessly to keep me well and the house well kept. You deserve a day for just you, and I'm going to make that a reality, tomorrow." Joey smiled as he lowered himself down onto her chest.

Cuddling into his darling, as his strong arms laced around her slender figure; her fingers found their place running through his hair.

Too tired to argue. Prim only hummed, submitting to her sweetheart's plan.

Prim didn't notice how tired she was until sleep suddenly tugged at her eye lids. Her body relaxing into the bed, her lovers heat seeping into her cold skin as he too drifted to sleep. With a small yawn, she let her eyelids drop closed. Small, quiet snores filling the air as the couple fell asleep.

The sound of pounding feet shattered the peaceful silence and shook Joey from his slumber.

Sitting up, and looking towards the window. Behind a heavy cloth covering the window, a bright light shone through the cracks. A banging on the front door stirred Prim from her sleep.

"What's going on?" She questioned, her voice slightly croaky. Eyes tired.

"I don't know."

"Open up!" A voice bellowed. Now more awake than before, pure panic and confusion spread across Prim's face.

"Don't worry. I'll go." Joey put a reassuring hand on her cheek, before jumping up and grabbing a loose top. Taking note of Prim moving to grab the dagger they kept under the bed for protection; Joey waited for his love to feel secure before leaving the room.

Opening the door, Joey came face to face with a group of men dressed heavily in armour.

Brows furrowing lightly and a scowl taking his lips, Joey stared the leader in the eye. The man looked rough. Scars littering his face and his armour slightly different from the others with a red cape and his armoured shoulders leading to a point.

"Can I help you?"

"Are you, Joseph Kingsley?"

"Yes."

"We have a request from the king." The man handed over a letter. Joey taking it with a dubious expression.

Opening the letter, he was greeted with a long list of weapons. From swords, to Maces, to projectiles like crossbows.

"Why does the king want all these weapons?"

"That doesn't concern the likes of you, black smith. Now, unless you want trouble I suggest you get started." The man growled. Just then a hand placed itself on Joey's shoulder.

"Is everything alright here, gentlemen?" Behind Joey, Prim-rose forced a smile onto her face. Her eyes hard, almost daring the men in front of them to start trouble. Her intense presence made the lead soldier back off slightly.

"Yes, ma'am." He nodded, his demeanour from before completely contrasting, to become more formal and professional.

"May I inquire as to why you have hammered on our front door at such an ungodly hour?"

"We have orders from the King to request your husband makes some weapons. All the best black smiths in the land have been ordered to do so."

"I see. Well, you won't want my husband to perform poorly, and not have your weapons at the best he can make them. So. He will make them starting tomorrow. Right now, he needs rest. So I bid you, a good night, sir." Prim shut down any rebuttal as she closed the door promptly.

Waiting by the door, dagger still in her vice like grip, she waited for the light seeping through the cracks of the door to go, and the loud marching of the group to disappear.

Hearing nothing and seeing the light fade after a couple of disgruntled grunts and whispers from outside, she peeked out the door once more. Seeing the group of armoured men disappearing into the distance, she sighed.

Closing and locking the door, she turned to Joey who was reading over the order again. Shaking her head, she took the letter.

"There's no point in worrying about it now. I said you'd start in the morning. For now, let's go back to bed." Prim said as she folded the letter in half and took it into the bedroom with her. Placing it on the bedside table, she climbed back into the bed after removing the shawl that was wrapped around her shoulders.

Sighing deeply, Joey joined her. Shedding his top once more, he climbed in behind his lover. Spooning her and pulling her into his chest, she turned her head to kiss him, before relaxing into the sheets.

"Don't worry about tomorrow. We can always do it another day." Prim whispered in the darkness, stroking Joey's hand.

"I know. Get some sleep, my darling." Joey kissed the side of the woman's head, before resting his head on the pillow.

Unable to fall asleep, even in the comforting presence of his beloved, his mind swirled with many thoughts. Why did the king need so many weapons? Was there to be a war? There was a terrible feeling in his stomach. He couldn't stop the onslaught of worrying thoughts, until finally, after a few hours of lying awake he fell asleep from exhaustion.
