india held her breath as she laid in the warmth of blankets tangled around her body. Her eyes were locked on the icy flecks in the midnight beyond through her window. she swore they'd tumble down like snow flakes one day, who could blame her, she'd never seen snow. the slow inhale of cool air suddenly filled her closed lungs. her head was turned to a groan in the bed beside her.
her gentle blue eyes landed on zach, his messy brown hair was falling into his face, over his closed eyes. shifting slightly between the covers she faced him. her nose gently brushed his as he pulled her tighter into her.
"why aren't you sleeping?" zach hated being woken but for India he didn't really care. he looked into her sea foam eyes. he pressed his hand to her back which was covered with his own hoodie. she simply shook her head and pressed her head under his chin.
"i don't want you to leave, i don't want to be alone in this house without you." her voice was shaky and quiet. her hands were pressed between their chests.
"shhhh.... i know little love." zach whispered into the air as he gently pulled her closer and rubbed her back. india sniffled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. one of his hands reached up and brushed her tears away.
"hey baby girl, it's alright okay? i'll only be a face time call away," zach whispered as he kissed her lips slowly, "i hate leaving you but when i come back i won't leave your side." he promised. india nodded as she kissed him slowly but softly.
his hand slowly ran up the back of her hoodie as their lips pressed together. in a sad but gentle love zach moved his hands around her wrists and pinned them above her head as his lips stole her breath away. zach's lips went down her jaw to her throat leaving soft and gentle love bites.
"baby, we can't it will wake up my parents." the fifteen year old whispered to him in the darkness.
"come on baby it's my last night with you before i leave-"
        "i said no zach..."
        "but-"
        "no!" india snapped.
zach froze before sitting back off of his girlfriend. he shook his head and sighed as she sat up in her warm bed, her hand reached for the lamp she gently flicked it on so she could see his deep brown eyes.
"i'm sorry baby, I just... we always are rough and its so quick..." she struggled to explain as she let her hair out of her messy bun. zach looked down before peering at her sitting before him. gently he brushed the hair away from her face, his soft fingers on her cheek gave her shivers. her eyes closed as she leaned her face farther into his hand.
"slowly, slowly, let's waist this night away, wrapped up, wrapped up, we'll float away, when you kiss me like you do."  zach's echoing voice lulled her eyes closed as his lips fell back against her's. and they waisted their last night away...

india held tight to zach's hand as they walked towards his gate were his family was waiting to say goodbye. her hand was laced together with his as they stood on an escalator slowly going upwards. she whiped away her tears for the fifth time today. her and zach hadn't been apart or separated once for over two weeks. and now it would be for six months. slowly she doubted more and more on if this would last between them as they came closer and closer to the end.
zach looked down at her with sad eyes. his grip on her tightened as he skweezed her hand.  he leaned down and pressed his lips to her's. The feeling of his warm lips on her's with the sad tangy taste of salty tears would forever be burned into her mind as more tears rolled.
as they parted she held his cheeks in her hands. "zach, before we force this. . ."
"don't say it baby, i know. . ." zach whispered, he had already prepared himself as soon as he was told about the tour, he readied himself for the pain of losing her, his lover, his everything.
"i want you to know... that you'll always have a piece of me, always, no matter who you decide to love besides me-"
"stop baby girl, it's only been you, only you, okay? only you." zach held her head as she sobbed into his shirt.
"goodbye." zach held her hands as she whispered that dreaded word as they reached the top of the escalator.
"i love you. . ." he whispered. but her lips didn't move to say it back. he just pressed his lips to her forehead and inhaled her smell of vanilla one last time.

pennsylvania snow kissed the glass window before melting at it's warmth. slowly it would fall through dark cloudy sky to the earth. that water had come from somewhere clear across the world, for a distant land with warm oceans and palm tears. but why had come to die in a place such as this. this was snow, something india's eyes hadn't ever seen before.
the stars in texas she'd spent nights staring at, wondering if they'd fall were finally falling. in that moment she shivered, bumps rose on her skin through the warm golden colored hoodie from her old school in texas. no not her hoodie, his. his. while moving across the country india had managed to loose her phone, and contacts. so there was no longer a boy in her life by the name of zachary dean herron. only what was left of fragmented memories of late nights and hushed laughs and songs.
she couldn't hear his voice anymore, and for some reason she didn't quite want to. Her eyes fell to a flake of snow, she watched as it danced happily towards the white ground. onto the cap of a curly haired boy who was out shoveling the driveway next door and quickly vanilla scents filled her nose as she slowly smiled for the first time in six months.
the curly haired boy sighed out a small cloud of winter air as he took a break from his hard work. and his eyes met the ice blue eyes of a sad, lonely girl with vanilla hair.
