Seokjin felt like he was going to be sick.

Not the oh-I-just-ate-too-much-steak-again-sick, but the oh-my-god-I-just-became-the-future-prince-of-Korea-sick.

Yes, it happens.

The seventeen year old couldn't even bring himself to apologise as he bumped into the fifth person during his run. It wasn't like he was trying to be rude. He just had a lot of thoughts going on at the moment. You know, because he just became the future prince of Korea. Seokjin couldn't even bring himself to grasp the thought over it without leaving a displeasure look on his face.

Thankfully, his face-mask covered the poor expression. And if the face mask wouldn't have covered it, then the scarf wrapped up to the bridge of his nose should have done the work. He looked rather suspicious dashing through the crowded city streets of Seoul wearing his questionable attire. Who else wore a long black winter coat, a plaid scarf wrapped around multiple times around the neck, and a face mask covering up to the bottom of his eyes in the middle of summer?

Seokjin didn't know whether or not to be glad that no eyes were on him at the moment. They were all too busy being distracted by the large screen monitors that were hung on every couple of skyscrapers. Every single flat television screen had been paused from their scheduled broadcast or advertisement and had been sent directly to the rare Breaking News screen. All of Seoul’s citizens stared at the screens with an expression so shocked that it seemed as if they just heard South Korea just won the World Cup. Loud chatter and cheers were the only thing recognizable to Seokjin's ears. Some watched the screen trying to figure out what all the commotion was about while the others shared their excitement with their friends. Seokjin was the only one who tried to drown deeper within himself the second his ears caught the news reporter’s voice come onto the speakers.

“ -Our Prince and now fiance have just announced their engagement! They have scheduled to be married soon and have a grand public wedding for everyone of Seoul to see. In addition to the proposal, our Prince will finally have his coronation to officially become the King of South Korea. Korea doesn't have to be saddened about the loss of our handsome prince because it has been reported that our future Queen has a son.”

Everyone gasped, dramatically at the same time. Seokjin cringed within himself. He wished his scarf could just swallow him whole. He hated the murmurs he was hearing. Some were positive, others were not.

Then, another set of gasps escaped from everyone. The murmurs didn’t stop. Hesitantly, Seokjin stopped from dashing through the people. He nervously looked up and his eyes followed up to look at one of the screens, just like everyone else. Again, he thought he was going to be sick. His School ID picture was flashed onto every screen surrounding him and the ones down every single street.

“Meet our future prince, and hopefully, future King of South Korea as well, Kim Seokjin. It is a pleasure to have this amazing young man as our future leader. We hope he will do great things.” The woman on the screen smiled. And with that, all the screens flashed off and returned to their regular programs.

Time stilled for Seokjin. It seemed to have done the same for all the citizens as well. No one spoke for a couple of seconds, the only noise being the advertisements from the televisions. Until,

“Hey mister, wasn't that you?”

Seokjin looked down when he felt someone tugging the edge of his coat. He lowered his mask since it was hard to see with so much protection. Now being able to see, Seokjin made eye contact with a little boy who was staring at him like he was super hero.

“Hey, Jiho, don't do that. We’re sorry-”

Seokjin had done the mistake of looking up. He made eye contact with who he assumed was the mother of the child. The woman’s eyes widened almost instantly. Seokjin was confused as why the woman seemed as if she had seen a ghost until he realized he had pulled down his face mask. His head movement from looking down and up had also made his scarf fall down to his neck. He was completely revealed.

“Y-You're the- Y-You’re him- “ The woman was almost shaking as she pointed from the screen and towards Seokjin.

“No. It's fine, please.” Seokjin tried to reassure the woman. He did another mistake of looking around to see if others around them had noticed. Heads were slowly turning towards them as the woman spoke louder and quick.

“We’re sorry, your majesty. Please forgive us.”

If people hadn't noticed before, they sure did now. Seokjin’s eyes widened and he took a step back when the mother kneeled down in front of him. She scolded her son and pulled him down to do the same.

“Hey, no, it's fine. Please stand up. The ground's dirty and I really don't care.” Seokjin harshly whispered and pleaded. His words reached deaf ears. He stopped pleading when everyone around him had finally put the pieces together.

“It's our future prince.”

“It's him.”

“He’s our majesty.”

Seokjin looked up and turned around. He wished he hadn't. His stomach dropped at the sight before him. Everyone around him was kneeling before him. From the people just before him all the way to down the street. Their heads were bowed down that their foreheads almost touched the ground.

Seokjin took a nervous step back as he took in the scene before him. His mouth was parted from pure horror and his eyes flicked over everyone below him. No, he couldn't do this. Seokjin couldn't do this. He wasn't meant to be a prince. He just couldn't. He wasn't meant to do this.

Without a single word, Seokjin did the only thing he knew how to do best.

He ran away and went to the one and only Park Jimin’s house.
