"Alright class, today we're gonna do something a bit....different today." Mr. Sanders said, making the high schoolers already groan.
"Let me guess, you think it's gonna be one of those "boring 3 page essays", right?" The teacher shook his head with a slight laugh. "Well, you're wrong about that. But it does have to do with writing."
The young teacher went behind his desk, and grabbed a stack of loose leaf paper, and started to pass them out while continuing.
"For months, you will all be writing letters to students in the Private Catholic school down the road. Nothing much about that. Just....don't write anything inappropriate or use your real name. Set it on my desk when your done."
He finished passing out the papers and returned to his desk, leaving the students to write the first letter to their soon-to-be pen-pal, with the occasional murmur or laughter or the dropping of a pen.
Soon people were getting up and setting their letters on the desk, somehow being already done.
Virgil stared blankly at his paper, pen in hand, unsure what to write.
'Will they think I'm weird? Will they think I'm a mess? Will they think that I'm an idiot or will they think that I'm the biggest jerk in the world and they'll hate me?' His mind raced, taking a few breaths.
"Calm down, Virge. Don't get anxious over the little things and overthink this..." He whispered to himself, his hand soon moving to start writing.
