Chapter 1
Walking through the horrid doors of a school is always worse after summer vacation. The shrills of friends reunited come from the veterans of high school and eyes wide with fear always appear on the freshman's faces.
I couldn't blame them, that was me two years ago. I looked over to my best friend Cheyenne. She had drove us to school today and we had decided to keep it that way for the rest of the year.
We had the same schedule for the whole year. This is basically impossible but considering her mom was one the guidance counselors we knew she had helped us out.
Our first class was AP Chemistry 2 and we made out way through the crowded halls of our very small school. We lived in a small town in North Carolina a few hours away from its capitol. With our school only having about 600 students, everyone knew everyone. Privacy was not an option and anyone knew was highly observed for at least a month.
"Morgan what are you reading right now." Cheyenne asked me. This was something she did at least once a week. She knew of my obsession and always wanted to hear about my latest book without actually having to read them for herself..
"I'm actually rereading Halo at the moment so nothing new." I smiled at her. She understood me like no other human being on this earth. She knew how my love for books was a huge factor in my life. She didn't sniff her nose at me like some of the stuck up girls I knew would.
We kept talking about the book while we walked into the classroom and looked at the lab tables. Each table had two stools and tape with names on it.
Assigned seats......ugh.
"Guess this dudes gonna be uptight." Cheyenne whispered to me. Most people were already here so it wasn't too hard to find our seats. My seat was towards the back of the room while Cheyenne's was in the front.
Jokingly we made a face of great terror and held our hands out to each other as I walked to my seat.
The day went by fast, as most first days do. It was mostly just a list of supplies we needed and papers for our parents to sign. After the final bell I met Cheyenne outside and she dropped me of my house that was just a few miles up the road.
"How was your first day?" My brother Alex called to me from his seat on the couch. Alex was two years older than I was and is taking a break year between high school and college. If you didn't know us you would think we were twins. We both had dark, wavy, brown hair, brown eyes, and an olive skin tone. The only true difference between us was that my brother was tall, 6 foot 2 inches, and I was short as could be, standing at 5 foot 1 inch.
"Oh same old same old." I said with a wave on the hand. "Learning and snobs."
"Sounds about right." My brother said with a smile. No one besides Cheyenne knew how close my brother and I were. We stopped showing our sibling love for each other when I entered high school, when people started using me to get to him. Now my excuse was that we weren't that close so I couldn't really help who was asking.
"Sounds like every day." He smiled and patted the seat next to him.
"What did you want to do today? Got a hot date tonight?" Alex asked.
What I really wanted to do was curl up beside my big brother and read a book while he challenges his friends on the Xbox, and I'm 100% sure he knew that.
"Oh go get your book Moe, I'm not stupid." He laughed and I ran to my room to grab my book.
A/N: sorry this is so short. I had trouble transferring the document from my laptop to wattpad. Next chapter will be longer and updated faster I promise!
