My teach was staring deep into my eyes boring into my soul.
"Maykisa you've been training for the past 6 months you could do this" he said.
Feeling completely exposed on how he read my thoughts I replied suspiciously "and now you could read my mind".
"the strong connection between a student and a teach is just like the connection between a cub and its mother" he replied.
"but what if I fail" I countered.
He stared at me like am possessed then he signed gravely and said "you will retry next year then, failure is never a bad thing as long as you learn from it".
"always with your sayings, old man" I tried making the situation light.
"don't call me old man, am young and handsome"he countered back suddenly.
We looked at each other and after few seconds we burst into laughter.
"you are going to be late" my teach said.
We were having the exam at the hall, it is a two days course and being late at the first day will get me in big trouble, I might not be noticed because almost every one from far and near are writing the exam, but I can't take the chances.
"shoot, why didn't you tell me" I replied while running.
Turning back I said "am going to make you proud" making my teach give one of his signature smile the one that says - am already proud-.

On the way....
I could see the building coming closer, I have being running for the past 10 minutes but didn't break a sweat one of the perks of being trained by the old man.
"Wait up" a voice said, I didn't want to stop to look back I have just 3 minutes before the door closes.
"I said wait up " the voice said, that got me, I turned and saw a petite girl catching her breath," c, c, could you please heeelp me"she said while gasping for air in between.
" Why should i" raising a brow seeming confused.
"I need to get through that door before it closes"she replied.
" you are writing the exam, that means we have to move fast" reaching towards her.
I grabbed her hand and jerked her forward whilst trying to get to the gate
5 foots near the gate, a hefty man was pulling the door together.
"Oh gods, wait!!!, we need to get through" I shouted.
He looked at us and that brought us the time to reach there.
"Wwww we areee sor sor ry for being late, it was my fault" the petite girl said why trying to breathe.
'We didn't even run far' I wondered.
"It's okay, you're still going to wait the long line before entering the main hall " said the hefty man.
That's when I looked behind the man and saw a long queue extending from the inner chambers to the very spot I was staring at, 'this is gonna be a long day' I thought.
We went to the room that's adjacent to the gate, where the registering of names are done.
"what's you name "The bored looking woman said still looking down at her sheets.
" Emm, it's Maykisa phire"i said.
"F I R E"she spelt, this time looking directly at me.
" no its P H I R E"i corrected her.
"Hmmm, next"she said.
"i i it's t t tima muby"she said not really audible and nervously looking away.
Am beginning to think she stutters.
"what " the woman asked, trying to make her repeat.
As if she had a bolt of confidence" she stood bolder and said in an audible voice "it's Tima muby"
"okay, you're going to line up till your names are called out and you're asked to enter the main hall and good luck " the woman said ending it with a smile as she said her last two words.
We move to join the queue, I felt a hand trying to get my attention, it was the petite girl that I now know as tima.
"am tima and thank you" tima said.
"am Maykisa and you're welcome" I said.
With a big grin plastered on her face she said" can I call you May".
"no problem" i said.

We waited for a long time before a
Lanking looking woman started calling out the name and ordering the candidates to move into the hall. It took a long time before it finally got to our turn at that moment tima looks like she will pass out.
On the platform stood a man with long beards and white hair, at his left is a fine looking man and his right a short woman.
"attention and welcome to Kraedarth Academy"the man with the white hair said.
"sit every one" he continued
We all obeyed at once, tima and I are sitting opposite each other,and at our desk a unturned sheet and a quill
"I am principal isttaberg, said the man with white hair, and at my left is professor merryl, at my right is professor Tikesi".
"we will begin the theoretical aspect of the exam now" said principal isttaberg.
That got us, as we realize how soon we will be entering the only academy in Glefiton
"as you can see there is a questionnaire and a sheet for your answers" said professor Tikesi.
"you have 30 minutes to answer all 5 questions, and it starts now" professor merryl shouted.
I opened the questionnaire blocking everyone and the noise, the first question was simple.
1. What is the first thing you would do when you see a ueattle.
Taking up the sheets I wrote my answer briskly,rushing to the second question.
2. Mention three runes that can amplify you ability
3. Name The three mages to win the conquest
4. Where can you find the veil of adelia
5. Why do you want to study at Kraedarth.

"time out, step away from the desk and come submit your answers sheet here"professor tikesi said.
Scrambling out of our seats we went to the podium and put it in a box.
"that will be all for today, tomorrow will be another exam and only those that passed the theoretical aspect will be summoned tomorrow, you may leave" professor istaberg said.
Everyone immediately stand to leave the room, looking scared and relief at the same time.

I saw tima outside the entrance.
"Hey how was the written exam"she said.
"It was okay, I wrote well, you "I said.
"It was okay too, but I think I miss question 4" she said looking scared.
"I think I missed that question too but I don't want to fret on it,See You tomorrow"
"you too".
Oh, the seven gods above lead me through.

Going home I decided to pass the old square, to take the short cut home, it's being a long day.

I am going to miss spending half of my day at the old square, with that little snotty brat and tisha.

"Maykisa is here, said Tisha rushing to come greet me.
Hey little shorty"
" don't call me that " Tisha said sounding annoyed, you are just a year older than me.
"where's that snotty brat".
" kiber, come out, may is here" Tisha said trying to grab the little brat out.
"I don't want to see her, she will run her hand through my hair and call me a snotty brat"kiber said.
"she's going to Kraedarth, will you just tell her goodbye"
"Kraedarth, but you would not come to play with me anymore, who will call me snotty brat and run their hands through my hair" kiber said, crying and sniffing is nose.
"I will" Tisha said sounding very eager.
"you are not allowed to call me that, those are Maykisa's words, copy cat"kiber retorted
" you have got to be pulling me, did you hit your head or something, don't even dare come near, Tisha, help, the snotty brat is about to get snot on me"I said while trying to run away from kiber who is trying to hug me.
Tisha came running trying to get the brat away from me and me running away from him.
"okay stop" I said.
"am going to miss you Maykisa, you are like the big sister I never had" kiber said while smiling.
"I thought I was the big sister you never had"tisha said trying hard to look angry.
"Emmm, I I ddo not kknow" kiber said stuttering.
I think the 4 year old have grown on me during the years we've spent together,he's sometimes annoying trying to get snot on you and calling himself the snot monster, I will surely miss him.
"I will miss you kiber, you too Tisha" I voiced my thought
Not only two eye that were glistening with tears but 6
"got to go buddies, old man is expecting me".
I found myself running away from the square, going Straight home,but the most important words I have ever wanted to listen to, I heard from two kids across the square.
"I LOVE YOU, MAYKISA".
