So far, my life has been great. Amazing even. I first transformed to how I actually looked in my younger years. I was a scrawny little kid how didn't have a piece of muscle in his body. I made it seem like I was only 10 and was in an orphanage.
I know what your thinking. Why would you put yourself through the pain of an orphanage when you could make yourself rich as can be? But, that's not what I am going for. I want it to seem like I had to work for everything I had and have to do, which I actually do. I can just snap my fingers and put fake stories into the mind of every mortal in the world. That would defeat my purpose of being in the mortal world to begin with.
So I went everyday to the younger kids to play with them early in the morning and then help the caretakers with breakfast. I have actually gotten really good at cooking over the centuries I have been alive and I love doing it. After breakfast was done I gather my things to go out and into the aquarium right down the street.
The aquarium was the reason I chose this orphanage in the first place. It provided quick access and the caretakers didn't have to go far if they needed me. I would sneak in the bag to where the dolphins are and swim around with them. I knew the people working with them would eventually find me and when they did, they about had a heart attack.
I mean, finding a little kid swimming with the dolphins whom they have never met is really dangerous, but not for me.
When they tried to get me out, valentine, one of the dolphins, gave me a push on my feet t the edge, so it looked like I was coming out of the water like the TV show aqua man. Once I got the edge, I turned and gave valentine a hug and said my goodbyes, knowing I would see her tomorrow. The trainers got me out, scolded me, and sent me on my way home.
This routine continued for over a week before the trainers would only sit by the edge and watch me play. The next month they let me handle feeding them and then they would let me stay unsupervised for short time periods. I learned the trainer's names were David and Ava. I knew they didn't know who I was and that the dolphins were never going to harm me.
One day, they came in when we were playing a game. I toss a ring to them and they have to catch it and throw it to the others where it would get back to me and then it would start over, but we moved to different areas around the pool.
At first I didn't notice them, but when Ava turned back around I saw Dave looking like a start struck idiot. I tuned him out to focus on the game. Ava returned with the owner of the Aquarium and more and more trainers for other animals started to come over to see what was going on.
Pretty soon, the entire aquarium was there and Valentine turned to look at them, for getting about the game, which switched my attention to them as well as the other dolphins.
The owner came up to me and asked my what my name was. "Percy Jackson" I replied quietly, trying my hardest to like a little kid. "And where are your parents Percy?" he asked just as quite, but the other trainers all heard him anywhere.
They leaned in to hear my answer and a few already had their phones out to call my parents. "They died when I was really little. I don't have any. I live at the orphanage down the street."
The trainers all looked down in sympathy, but not the owner. HE stared down at the floor in silence before taking my hand and leading me out of the building and toward the orphanage. He walked me inside and sat me down in the caretaker's office before the looked around the room and sating something I never expected.
"I want to adopt Percy Jackson."
