"Mia!" Kate, my friend yelled in my ear, "Wake up! The semester's over and we can finally go home, and do whatever we want."
I woke up with a drowsy face but that changed as soon as I heard those words come out of her mouth. I packed all my stuff, threw on my backpack and sprinted to the campus bus with Kate by my side.
As soon as we boarded the bus we sat down and started planning our break. We went over all the big details to all the minuscule ones until Kate had to get off the bus. She was one of the first stops and I was the last stop so I was used to our discussions being cut short.
After around 15 minutes my stop arrived. I got off the bus and jammed my ear buds in and started listening to the 'Top Pop' songs. I was walking while humming to all the good songs for about 5 minutes. My apartment is quite a while away from the bus stop so I have to walk most of the way. While on the way to my apartment I felt like I was being watched. I turned around and searched the street and saw no one there to my relief. So I just thought I was being paranoid. But after that I took off my earbuds so I knew no one could take advantage of one of my senses not being in play. I walked down the street being on the balls of my feet just to be safe. This time I heard footsteps and by then I was walking faster. I heard someone approach closer and I was full on sprinting! But before I could reach my apartment something hit the back of my head and I drifted out of consciousness.
