" Day One: The News

Dear friend,

You may never see this but it feels good to write a little bit about the tests they do on me in this facility. This is my first time writing in my new notebook they gave me for Christmas. I guess they trust me with pencils, aha! I mean, I wouldn't, I still don't trust myself. Well, with a pencil of course. You probably wont ever read this, but eh, what the fuck. I haven't seen the outside world in... hmm I wanna say... Four years? I think today's Thursday, yesterday was my birthday. Is it July? I think it's July. How do I know this you may be asking, well yesterday the nurses kept wishing me a happy birthday. So I just assumed, ya'know, it was my birthday. I think I'm 20. They gave me a pack of cigarettes. Is that supposed to be a joke? I don't find it funny, because, well, I don't smoke. They took me outside sometimes, but it was still inside somehow. It was mostly at night, but I could never see the sun or the moon. There's this little place in the corner I hang out in, that's how I'm writing to you now. I don't know what time it is. I don't even know how the world has changed... I do know that the air has become very thick. It hurts my lungs, as if someone had just forced a huge puff of smoke down my throat. Right, so you're probably wondering why this letter is called the news, right? Well, I just found out that... Well, I'm pregnant. And they said that it's gonna be a girl. I don't know how this happened... I'm still a virgin.. Aren't I? I've thought of a few names already, I like (Y/N) the most, but I like a few other names that the doctors have suggested. Like Hazel, and Ava. (sorry if these are your names, just go with it ig lol) They have been feeding me more which is a plus on my part. The doctor said that i wont be able to keep the baby, that is really disappointing to me. I think that would be sad news to any mother. I heard the doctors talking and they said when they saw the baby, the monitor would always glitch and the baby would disappear then reappear again. This is scary for me because the baby would be experimented on. I don't want that to happen I don't want my baby girl to be taken and used for some mans Experimental Purposes. No one does. I will find a way to get her out of here. I AM determined to get her out. My time is up I must go back inside now. have a good night!

Sincerely,

(M/N)"

The Young woman walked inside and handed her book over hesitantly to security. She was hand cuffed and lead down the long halls to her cell. they UN-cuffed her and let her in the door slammed shut behind her. She sat in the corner and whispered to her unborn baby "I will get you out of here, my darling." She leaned her head back against the wall, humming and rubbing her stomach lightly. Her eyes started to droop and she drifted off to a dreamland, a place where only she was invited to be at peace.

TIMESKIPAROO

The woman woke up in a cold sweat she felt really sick, she turned to the side and threw up on the floor. The stomach acid splatted on the ground and she gagged repeatedly, trying to make it stop. She forgot she was pregnant for a while, before she realized what was wrong, and the color drained from her face. "I-I'm pregnant..." She stood up, her legs shaking uncontrollably, and walked toward the cell door, banging on the door violently, the fever making her feel in a dream state. Two guards rushed down the hall, and opened the door. She screamed and lunged at the first one , tackling him. Her stomach hurt, her unborn baby  moving slightly, but she ignored it and punched the  man repeatedly, until he was out cold. The second guard tried to grab her and get her off, but she tripped him, and he fell on the other guard, bashing his head against the floor. As he laid there unconscious, she heard ringing in her ears and she tried to ignore it, but every time she did, it would get worse. She suddenly saw white and black in front of her. She ran down the halls, whispering to the baby that everything was gonna be alright. She heard laughing from the end of the hall, but she couldn't see past the blinding screen of light corrupting her vision. She slowed to a halt, and the laughing was suddenly right next to her ear. She felt something cold on her neck, making her flinch slightly. She could see again. The laughing turned into a chuckle, a low raspy voice said, "What's your name deary?" The voice chuckled again, this must have been one of the other patients in the facility. She gulped, swallowing her pride and whispered softly, "(M/N)" the man slowly removed the object from her neck, yelling "HEY, I FOUND HER!" to someone down the hall. Two men, one with a yellow hoodie, and one with an orange one, jogged over to them,  the one with the yellow hoodie spoke "I can feel his energy in the child. She will definitely be the new proxy. The war is getting to be to much for the pastas." The young mother held her stomach protectively and looked at him, a confused expression on her face. The one with the orange hoodie spoke and reached out a hand to touch her tummy, "That child is no longer your problem." She was still confused, and turned away, keeping eye contact with them as best she could and yelled, choking on sobs,"not my problem? Not my problem?! It's MY child! NO one else's!! You can't take her, you can't... You can't. It's MY BABY!" She glared at the three men standing before her (Man if looks could kill). Her world was spinning too fast and she began to hyperventilate the men catching her before she fell. She was glad they caught her in time otherwise the baby would have died. (sorry if that triggers you) They argued, none of them knowing what to do about the unconscious woman they had in their arms.
