A few weeks has passed and I managed to get a grasp around my new school. I still couldn't achieve having a conversation with Olive. However, I did become bus buddies with Brandon, but his mood has been getting worse everyday. I hope things are alright with him, whenever I try to ask if he's alright, he gives me a small shrug and stares off into the window. I guess I shouldn't be poking my nose around into other peoples businesses yet.
Also hearing certain loud engines passing down the street at night became a daily routine. No matter how many times I'd yell at them to shut up out my window, I'd just get flipped off and laughed at. I should really file a complaint.
Jaxon and I also kept our promise of FaceTiming often. The time was ahead here than back home, so we scheduled our calls to when Jaxon would get home from school. It definitely was one of the best choices I've made since I moved here.
He always had something to say or a story to tell and it was more than my pleasure to hear them. Of course because he's my best friend.
I was currently getting ready for school. I unraveled my slept on French braids into waves that settled on my shoulders. My outfit consisted of white leggings, a black and white loose full sleeve shirt and an olive coloured overall dress to top it off.
I didn't wear too much makeup, however a bit of mascara and lipstick was a must. Making my way downstairs I said goodbye to my mother who had to leave early today for work. Me and my brother settled at the kitchen counter to enjoy a quick breakfast before we both had to leave the house.
Once again I found myself standing at the familiar bus stop awaiting for the bus to arrive. The sky was grey and had a chilling breeze. There wasn't any signs of having a bright shimmering day either. Sigh. I hate the Mother Nature.
Suddenly while waiting, I sensed a weird presence. Almost as if someone had been staring at me from behind. But when I turned around, no one was there. It could've been my imagination or me just being stupid, but I couldn't brush off the feeling. Goosebumps rippled along my skin and the atmosphere felt dense. My eyes traveled back and forward trying to view any figure in sight. However, I resulted in nothing.
The bus came into view and I was more than relieved. Once the transportation came to a stop, I slowly got on making sure to take one last glance behind me as I boarded. As usual, I saw Brandon sitting in his familiar seat and his backpack occupied my own. Once our eyes met he gave me a small grin and moved his bag leaving space for me to sit. Soon as I sat beside him the bus began to move. I took a quick glance to the window, my breath hitched. I saw something, no someone staring at me with a dull big smile plastered on their face . I took a second take out the window however the figure seemed to have evaporated. My eyes must be playing tricks on me, I rubbed my eyes in confusion.
"You okay?" Brandon asked looking at my curiously.
"Yeah, I just don't think I slept enough last night" I chuckled in reply. Brandon gave me a small nod. We stayed in a comfortable silence for the rest of the way to school.
Once we arrived at school, Brandon and I parted ways and exchanged quiet see you later's. I went through my new accustomed routine: locker, get my things, walk by every clique I'm not part of and go to my first class.
The morning flew by like a breeze, I still couldn't get Olive to talk to me unfortunately. She wasn't with her boyfriend today surprisingly, if anything she seemed subtly cautious of her way down the hall. But I'm sure if I tried getting involved, Olive would actually hate me then she seems to already. Yikes.
After lunch had finished, I entered my third class and took my seat near the front. Minutes passed by and students started coming in, however I noticed something. Walking in the classroom doors was the rich clothed girl who took a limousine home. I'm not sure when she was part of this class, but I just realized we had a class together. I'm clearly not as observant as I thought.
