We are the Devil's Angels.
We do as we please and that's how the world works. If you're as curious as I think you might be, I am the fabulous Scarlett 'Cherry' Evens. Recognize the name? You should. I am head of said Devil's Angels. Cross us and you die. Now back to the present. Currently, Doggo and I were going at it. Doggo's my best friend, they used to be apart of the Shadow Reapers, but because of their gender identity the Reapers thought better to get rid of them.
"But Doggo, you know how I feel about those guys!"
"I know Cherry, but they have changed I swear. I know what they did to you was fucked up, but they really have changed." Doggo has been trying to convince me to let Fury and his group into our GPP, Gang Protection Project . The last time I was nice to Fury, he thought it was fun to have me nearly beat to death by the Reapers.
"Only because you ask, I'll think about it Doggo, but they go down as your responsibility."
"Thanks Cherry! I'll keep em in line, I promise." They looked at me with soft eyes, the kind that convey caution and care. "I won't let what happened last time happen again." Doggo had been the one to find me when I had nearly died. Upon finding out who I was, they decided to help me and ask if they could join me in getting back at the Reapers. Constantly being misgendered and looked down upon, Doggo knew I was their best option.
"I'll hold you to it Doggo."

When I was younger, I had always wondered what it was like to be transgender or gay. My mother seemed to think those type of people were odd, ill in some way, that God messed them up, but I always believed they were normal like me. My brother and I had a friend named Will, he was one of the gayest people I had ever met. He enjoyed skating, rock music, dancing, and dicks. It was funny because his parents totally disapproved, but Will never cared, his favorite words being "They can go fuck themselves."
During the middle of high school, I started thinking about myself as a person. Was I gay? Was I straight? Did I not feel right in my body? What would my friends think? What will my mother think? I had so many wonderful friends ready to help me anytime I needed it, but I just shut down whenever someone asked how I was feeling. I knew it was bad for me but I just couldn't seem to do it.
This brings me back to how I formed the Devil's Angels. By the end of going through hell, high school, I had started a group. We were the kids that were deemed mentally unstable, we were the LGBTQ+, we were the emos, the rockers, the losers that sat in a corner to keep from kicking other kids asses! Other kids were a fucking nuisance, so I created the Devil's Angels and we soon became the gang that no one fucked with.
It all was rattled when HE came to town. Arthur fucking 'Fury' Anderson. This motherfucker had the audacity to stroll up in my town and challenge me for claim over Newinton. My refusal, and later beating of his ass, caused him to not only work with our gangs biggest enemies, but with my ex best friend Aliya. When DA's was created, she thought it would be okay to provoke all of the other members seeing as she was the only 'normal' person in the gang. After that she was banned from being seen with us and not long after created the Shadow Reapers to be our competition.
Last I had heard Fury was shagging Aliya and giving her all the intel he could get on us and others like us. The Reapers trained to kill, their own words of 'Fiat nobis emundetur a re mala' a sick mantra Aliya created to scare us. The Reapers have never been able to kill before, knowing Aliya there is probably a rule against it so they don't get sent to jail, but their specialty is torture.

I was running as fast as I could through the middle of the woods behind my neighborhood. I had been trying to keep Aliya from catching me, running and horsing around like kids did, we went as far as our 7 year old legs could carry us. I quickly ran behind a tree to get away from Ali and tumbled down a hill."Cherry!" I could hear the pounding of footsteps across the ground.
"Are you okay!" Moaning, I acknowledged that I was alive, but my words came out as whimpers.
"Uuuuuhhhhhh."
"What wrong Cherry? Where are you? Are you okay?" I remained silent, sound made my head hurt.
"Cherry....CHERRY!"
Turning my head over through the pain, I could slightly make out Ali running toward me. Kneeling down onto the gravely, rocky dirt, Ali lifted my head into her lap and used her sweater to wipe away dirt and blood from my head.
"It hurts Ali," I moan in excruciating pain.
In my raised placement, I looked down to see what felt like it was burning and I could see all the cuts and broken bone poking up in my skin. I remember feeling the pain, hearing Ali crying and trying to keep me from dying. I don't remember how long we sat on the ground, minutes, hours, but soon the call of Ali's father rang through the woods.
"Girl?....Girls?!"
"OVER HERE DADDY! CHERRY FELL!"
The last thing I remember was being picked up in big arms and being rushed through the woods.
"Cherry?......I need you to stay with me..... Can you hear me?....Cherry?...Cherry!?"
"CHERRY!"
"Huh? What?" Looking up, I realized I was still in my room/office sitting on my old plush mattress.
"I asked if you were okay. Doggo stopped by with some info concerning you know what and when I came to tell you you were completely zoned out. You good?" My brother Johnathan 'No Shit Sherlock' Evens, was looking down at me.
"Yeah, no, I'm good. Was just thinking about something." I remarked
"Well don't think too hard, you'll scramble your brain."
"Yeah like yours." I sassed.
"Ha ha, very funny. Now hurry up before Mom asks why Doggo is here." He replied smugly.
Hearing that Doggo was here, I raced past John and ran down the stairs. If Mom got to him our plans for the gangs future was destroyed. As much as I trust Doggo, that kid couldn't keep a secret for the life of them. Mom believed my friends and I were in a band that met up at least 3 times a week. If she knew the truth, she'd ship us all away faster than Amazon Prime. Approaching the living room, I could see the back of Doggo's head and in getting closer I heard the worst thing possible, Mom.
"So Francine, what have you been doing recently? And what is with your clothing dear?"
"No-nothing Mrs Evens, just a new style."
"And I think it looks fabulous," I announced. I used this moment to glare at mother, to let her know to 'back-the-fuck-off-before-I-castrate-you'. Seeming to get my idea, Mom nodded toward Doggo and walked into the kitchen.
"I'm sorry Doggo, if I had came down a little faster I could have prevented that."
"It's no biggie Cherry, your mom just kinda freaks me out is all."
"She also misgendered you. As your friend and leader, I promised I wouldn't let that happen."
"It's okay Cherry, really. I know your mom will never look at me for the non-binary I am, nor the man I want to be. She's incorrigible."
"Do you even know what that means dude?" I replied in a sassy tone.
"Duh! It means stupid." They replied with a smirk in their voice.
We then burst out laughing, heading up to my room to talk about the new information concerning the gang and Fury.
