A/N: Philosopher's Walk, Kyoto, Japan

____________________________________Kyoto, Japan
December 26, 2014Tee was walking alone along Philosopher's Walk in Kyoto. Gone were the beautiful cherry blossoms of Spring. Of course. It's December.
The atmosphere seemed to sympathize with his emotions. For a cold blood undercover agent, his heart was feeling the greatest pain he had ever felt. A heartbreak. His first. His one and only.
His father trained him to manage and control all human emotions since he was young. He did a pretty good job, too. But all that changed when he met Tae Darvid Kreepolrerk three years ago.
For a twenty two year old, Tee can say he's lived more and killed more than a regular middle aged assassin. He's been around the world doing black operations for a secret agency under an intelligence service. Being a student was his perfect alibi in completing his covert ops in and out of the United States.
Tee sat under a cherry tree after walking a little. "It's his birthday today." He muttered sadly to himself. He couldn't hold back his tears anymore.
(Flashback)
Tokyo, Japan
December 20 SaturdayKnock. Knock. Knock.
The door opened and a young man pulled Tae inside and locked the door behind them.
Tae was slammed against the hardwood entrance and his mouth was ravished by a sweet yet sake smelling guy in front of him.
"Tee! Mmm. ..Tee, wait a-mmmm. ..minute. You're drunk!"
"So what? I haven't seen you in a year!" Tee snapped at the guy he was kissing so hard a second ago.
"Who's fault is that?!!"
"...."
"You disappear for a year. Then you leave me with just messages on my phone and email. You only called four times in the last twelve months. Four!!!"
"...."
"What exactly are we, Tee?" Tae couldn't contain the pain and resentment he had been feeling. He lashed out, his voice filled with longing yet disappointment.
"I don't know." Tee spoke, his voice above a whisper and defeated. "What... what do you want us to be then?" He asked after slightly recovering from his drunken state. Hesitantly, he welcomed the confrontation.
"I want us... I want us to be together. Tee." Tae answered and swallowed hard. He's been dreading the day he confessed like this because he was scared at how Tee would return it.
"But..." Tee gritted his teeth, holding his tears back. "I...I can't. I live far, P'Tae."
"Then how the hell are you in Japan?" Tae hissed out of frustration.
"Research."
"Why can't you just communicate with me like a normal person, Tee?"
"It's complicated."
"Hah!" Tae easier his hands in agitation. "What we have is complicated! I can't do this anymore, Tee." He blurted out. Somehow, it was his only defense or resort. To put an end through it all. Still, on the back of his mind, he hoped Tee would stop him.
Tee pursed his lips. He looked at the man in front of him. 'It hurts.' Heheaved a sigh and clenched his jaws. "Fine." He whispered.
"You...You really agreed to it?" Tae asked, somehow hoping Tee wouldn't. His voice shook and trembled.
"Isn't that what you wanted, P'Tae?" Tee was trying hard to hold back his tears. "Get out."
Tae could only look back at Tee with teary orbs and droopy shoulders. 'It hurts.'
(Flashback ends)
Tee stood up from under the cherry tree and made his resolve. He took his phone out and typed a message.
<To unknown number: The first room we shared together, you have the key. If you decide to meet me again, I will be there. Every year. On your birthday week. I can't promise you the rest of the year, I'm sorry. You decide. -KhunYing>
