Chapter 52

Those three words kept on repeating in my head.

Why would he lie to me?

Louis:

At Interview. Bye.

Why would he lie saying that he was at an interview when he was clearly with the boys?

Without thinking I sent him a text saying:

Why lie?

This time I got a faster message saying;

Louis:

What? I gtg. Bye

"Hailey!" I exclaimed Shaking her to wake her up.

"Yeah?" she mumbled.

"Wake up!" I desperately exclaimed.

Years of frustration came out and when she saw me her face grew concern.

"What happened?" she asked.

Just then someone knocked the door and Hailey got up. She tied up her hair and opened it.

"Daniel!" she exclaimed.

"Hey. I came to see you guys." he said.

"Now isn't a good time." Hailey started.

"No it's fine. This way I get a guys opinion too."

We all sat on the bed and I told them what happened.

"This is complicated." Daniel said.

"Maybe he was busy. As in the Q and A thing." Hailey suggested.

"But after that he said he was at an interview so that means he is lying." Daniel said.

"That's true too." I said. I refreshed my page and saw a question that caught my eye. "What are you going to do on Friday?" I read to them.

"Me, well I'll be at the finale of your competition." Hailey said.

"No someone asked him that." I said showing them the screen.

I refreshed the page until Louis finally answered. "I'll be giving a surprise." Hailey read out loud.

"By surprise! Could he mean...break up?" I asked my face horrified by this fact.

"No. I don't--" Hailey started.

"Don't." I said walking into the bathroom.

"Zoey! The competition will be starting soon." Daniel said.

"Are you really ok? Also I don't think-"

"I'm fine." I said going towards the water.

Hailey:

"Do you think that she is alright?" Daniel asked sitting down.

"Hopefully."

Zoey started off and balanced herself on the board. She did her tricks, but by looking closely she wasn't doing it whole heartedly.

"By the way I don't see Joseph." I said looking at Daniel.

"He forfeited. He said that he didn't want to be the winner anymore. It made things boring. He wanted to see who would reach the top."

"He actually did that?"

"I did." Joseph said walking towards me.

"Who do you think is going to make it to the final round?" I asked.

"Well Maria is. Zoey I really don't know. The way she was performing now was so half hearted."

"I think so too." I said.

"Did something happen to her?" he asked.

"Boy troubles." I said.

"I see. Well she better improve or else she wont make it."

Zoey walked toward us with Eric, I believe and someone else. Maria followed in after and the host said "Now we will be announcing the top 3."

Maria had a confident smile on while Zoey looked at the sand.

"First place: Maria!" he said.

"I told you." Joseph said giving Maria an approving smile.

"Second Place: Drake!"

Would Zoey make it?

"Third place: Zoey!" he exclaimed.

Daniel got up and grabbed Zoey by the wrist. He pulled her towards the rocks where we had our conversation Yesterday.

"What is he going to do now?" Maria asked.

"I'm sure he can handle it. We just have to wait and see."
