Not the Same

Chapter Four- Hermione's P.O.V.

Ron cares so much. Maybe too much. He should just accept the fact that I'm worthless and undeserving. I trudged up to my dormitory, where I found Parvati and Lavender already there. They looked upset. Not my problem. As I stepped in the room, Parvati started crying. And I mean sobbing.

"H-Hermione..." She began, her voice wavering. "We're s-so sorry. We shouldn't h-have done those awful things to you."

"Yeah 'Mione, mind if I call you that? I hear Won-I mean Ron call you that all the time." Lavender said looking embarrassed by her slip-up.

"I...er...sure..?"

"Great! Now let us make it up to you! Parvati and I are going to give you a spa treatment!" Lavender said looking excited.

What did I have to lose. These girls look genuinely sorry. I feel kind of bad that I made such a huge deal out of something so petty.

"So, sit down and we'll put this face mask on you." Parvati said.

I sat down on my bed and crossed my legs up under me. Something Muggles call "Criss-cross-applesauce", I never understood the "applesauce" part. I watched Parvati mix the face mask together. The smell filled the air. It was strong and unpleasant, smelling like rotten eggs and spoiled milk. Besides those smells, the scent seemed familiar. As did the barf color it was beginning to turn. Probably a potion I've seen in Witch Weekly.

"Hold still while I apply this." Lavender said, scooping some into a spoon. "A burning sensation is normal. Do not scream, whatever you do. Your face will move, and the mask won't work."

"Er, okay."

Lavender put on a pair of gloves and began to apply it to my face. It tingled a bit, but didn't necessarily burn.

"Just wait a few minutes, and we can take it off." Parvati said.

"Um...how do we know when it's ready?" I asked nervously.

"Don't worry. We'll know." Lavender said smirking.

A couple minutes of silence went by, and soon, my face began to burn. It hurt. A lot. I tried my hardest not to scream.
