CHAPTER 1
Standing beyond the icy ledge, Jared watched as the roaring sea beneath him churned and heaved. The spray of ocean salt rose 10 metres into the air and fell dejectedly back into the ocean. The temperature was freezing cold and Jared wasn't ready for the fall in such conditions. He rubbed his hands and closed his eyes. In the -8°C condition, he wasn't sure whether the Neutrinos would work. He paused for a second and took a deep breath. Then he took a small, cylindrical shaped machine out of his backpack and gave the appropriate pressure needed on the top end of the cylinder. He then pointed the top end at an icy ledge and waited. Within seconds, a thin, yet strong cord shot out. At the end of the cord was a tiny metal ball. Inside was an igniter that used an inflammable gas to partially melt the metal ball. Its hot surface buried into the icy ledge and then cooled itself instantly. As the heat of the metal's heat subsided, the ice around it refroze and the metal ball connected to the cord was fused temporarily to the icy ledge.
Using the threshold, Jared climbed the glacier. He was currently in a different dimension. The dimension he was from was far more technologically advanced than this primitive society. Using Neutrinos, the people from his dimension had developed a way to travel across dimensions. The neutrinos were particles which when vibrated travelled to other dimensions. The full science behind this wasn't unraveled yet, but, if you fell from a height and let neutrinos flow with blood in your veins, the kinetic energy of your body would be absorbed by the Neutrinos and as they vibrated into another dimension, it would take you along as well. This tech enabled people to travel across dimensions and trade with people. Dimensions were actually different because of variations over a period of time. For example, if in one dimension, an asteroid had struck Earth 60 million years ago, in another dimension Earth had been struck by an asteroid 55 million years ago and therefore dinosaurs still flourished.
Currently, Jared was in a dimension experiencing the Ice Age and therefore wasn't technologically advanced. He blew the ice of his gloves and prepared for the jump. The Neutrinos filled into his veins and artilleries. Below him was the raging sea and above, the calm and unpolluted sky. Jared sighed; a sight for sore eyes.
As was common knowledge, the more the energy the faster the Neutrinos will vibrate. The entry to different dimensions depended on the speed of the Neutrinos' vibration and therefore the greater the height from which you fall. The reason for that was, the greater the height the more time you have to generate friction with the air around you. This heat is absorbed by the Neutrinos as they are good absorbers of heat and as they vibrate, you are transported.
Jared was from the dimension 1A. The people of 1A were generally peaceful and traded with the mostly primitive societies of other dimensions. But Jared was different. He was a dimensional bandit, wanted by the Inter dimensionary Police Force for robbing from 187 dimensions and the Consulate of dimension 56OP even threatened to cut trade ties if Jared and his group weren't caught and the jewels he stole, returned.
"50 meters," he sighed, leant forward and fell.
He felt the Neutrinos bubbling inside his blood and his body, mind and soul was drawn into a vortex, to another place far away, leaving the tribesmen from whom he had stolen a few trinkets screaming as they attempted to climb the glacier to get to him, the thief.

Jake was not a fan of waiting. Especially not of waiting on a hot and humid dimension with sweat pouring down from his chiseled face. His eyes scanned the desert like environment. Global Warming had taken its toll in this dimension. Back in 1A, the scientists had found a way to battle Global Warming, however, in this dimension, Global Warming was still a menace and scientists were still trying to battle the heat.
