I ran home, opening the door and seeing my mother staring at the wall. Her thin pale frame slouched over as if she was asleep, but she was awake. More than awake. Her crystal blue eyes studying the cracks and stains in the wall as her long blonde hair fell over her shoulders.
"Hey, mom," my voice was shaky. I've never been scared of my mother before but now I could hardly look at her. Her gaze snaps to me.
"Hello, dear," she replied slowly. I walked towards her, swallowing hard.
"Mom...." I choke on my words, "I'm leaving." my mother stands up, she was short and thin but her face was full of fear and rage.
"Wh-What?" she steps towards me, I move back. Her frail hands curl into fists. She motions towards me with her arms. I grab her wrist and hold her back, she screams in my face. She's never been this loud. I stumble backward, nearly falling. She's still screaming and yelling, shaking her fists at the sky and preaching that I will be "saved". I push her back, tears form in my eyes.
"GO!" she screams, "GO AND DESERT ME LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!" I look at her with merciful eyes. She was shaken and scared. Breathing heavy and crying as I felt for the door handle. At last, I find it and swing the door open, slamming it as I exit the house. I hear her screaming behind the door, crying my father's name. I run, run as far as my legs will take me. Finally, I'm free from that godforsaken house.
Now I live far from Boston. Living in a large apartment with the love of my life. I've come far from where I was. I'm no longer abusing my peers or myself. The future looks brighter than I could've ever hoped. It's a bit ironic eh?
