Looking back i was confused and most likely dumb. He wasn't worth it, he was never worth it.

"Im breaking up with you."

Iris stood there with her head up as she said that to the boy in front of her her tears creeping out of the corner of her perfectly almond shaped eyes once she realized he didn't care all along. He turned away and walked without a word not ever looking back. She stood in that that empty parking lot if front of the arcade, as she watched his car drive away. She cried so much that you would mistake it for the rain pouring down on her.

The world around her fell apart. But it felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, overwhelming sadness always overpowered her. She wiped her tears away with her hoodie, swollen eyes, red stuffy nose and her eyes were red around the edges. She started walking, where? She isn't sure herself but surely away from that place and the thoughts that surrounded it. She walked and walked until she got blisters at the back of her heels. She was down city centre and kept walking until she saw a small cafe to stop at. Her feet and legs were burning, walking to the entrance and reaching for the door handle her hands grabbed ahold of the cold metal and turned it.

She walked in and sat down at a table immediately letting her legs and feet rest. She sat there for a second to recollect herself and took off her backpack putting it beside her. A boy came over to the table he was a tall boy with soft fair skin and fluffy brown hair. He had casual clothes on  a hoodie, pants, white shoes and a apron on with a little notebook in the apron pocket. His voice deep and angelic he asked iris what she wanted to have. She sat for a little her rosy cheeks puffing up slightly as she thought for a second. She replied and said "I'll have a muffin and some tea." Her voice quiet, she watched him write in his notebook she looked at his face. No, she couldn't like someone already she just broke up with someone. Well, she was heartbroken that he didn't actually care and that she was right ever since she lost feelings. His face was nice, she thought 'wow he has a really nice face it should belong in an art museum what the fuck? Who gave u the right to be this beautiful?' She exclaimed in her own world of thoughts. She had noticed she had been staring for far too long and probably looked like a freak or a weirdo staring for that long.

She looked at and her sleeves on her big hoodie and played with them while he was writing. "What tea would u like?" He asked. Iris's head looked up and looked at him before saying "surprise me" he smiled at the little comment. 'Oh god, his smile' iris thought she melted at his voice and smile. He walked away and went behind the counter beginning to make the tea she asked for. Iris picked up her bag and looked for her notebook, he came back with earl grey and smiled while he walked away. She began writing and drawing her thoughts out. She took a bite of her muffin and finished her tea within 30 minutes. She returned the cup and threw away the garbage.

She brushed off any crumbs on her hoodie and paid the boy. She looked around and observed the place it was fairly empty but it was an urban place and most of the time the places would now be packed full. A decent amount of people came to cafes around the place and was okay for small businesses. She looked at the waiter and left leaving a 5.00 tip for him. She walked out and began walking to her apartment a couple blocks away. He smiled at the tip and watched her walk out, that was his last customer before he had to close. He began to clean the place up putting all the chairs up, wiping off the tables, sweeping he saw her notebook open on the table she was sitting on he looked at it and glanced at the door. He closed it and took it with him before he left. Walking past the trees he saw the girl that left her notebook and began walking faster to catch up to her his bag bouncing off his side every time he would take a step.

"Hey!"

he yelled loud enough to be heard iris turned her head towards the sound and stared into the distance the only source of light was the street light sitting above them. "Yeah?" the boy halted and stood in the dimly lit street. "Umm, you left your notebook here." he exclaimed. He started reaching into his bag and took it out "here." she looked at it and walked toward the boy from the cafe and took the book. "Thank you." she said he simply nodded the awkwardness building up second after second. He spoke up "so uhh you live around here?" she stood silent before answering "yeah, just right there." she pointed at the tall building. Down the street, she turned around and faced the boy again 'shit, shit say something dammit' he thought as she stared at him. "Really?" "yeah, why do you ask? Are u a stalker?" he panicked noticing that the questions he were asking were kind of creepy but he was really just trying to get to know her. "What? No, i live there too" he laughed sightly " sorry I probably made you feel uncomfortable" "nah it's all good."  She smiled at his awkwardness and found it cute, she shook the thoughts away.

'It's too early for another relationship.'

She thought and turned and faced him. "Well I better get going I have a work shift tomorrow." She explained and said another thank you before she started to walk away. He smiled and started to walk the opposite way for a store to go to. She opened her apartment door and walked in dropping her backpack on the floor and her book.  "Ara?" She called, no one answered she took her phone out and read the texts she didnt read and found that Ara was working a double shift today. She walked over to her bedroom and changed into shorts. And fell onto her bed plugging her phone in and putting music on, she pulled the covers over her and curling up into a ball crying herself to sleep.
