Corbyn's POV

3 months. 3 months since I met Leyota, 3 months since Lena was defeated, 3 months since I finally got the luxury of knowing she would be safe. Safe with me.

It was Lunch time, and Leyota was cuddled into my side, listening to the conversations that we're spoken by my fellow Angels. We were finally able to spread our wings once in awhile, of course not around humans, but it felt good to know that we could be free.

Jack spoke,
"We should have a face off."
Leyota sat up and stared daggers at Jack,
"Maybe we shouldn't."
"Come on Leya, you can even fight. It's great for couples therapy."
I laughed,
"Jack we don't need couples therapy, but I think a face off sounds good, we can let out some stress."

Leya looked up at me,
"Your really approving this? You could get hurt."
"It's ok baby. It's fun to do it sometimes. Plus I'm stressed and it will help me out a bit."

She sighed, but nodded, knowing that no matter what we were gonna do it anyways. She was like the mom of the group, which was really funny. She always tried to help us out as best as she could. I don't know why she would want to put up with us but she did. The bell rang and Jonah stood up first, him and Zach would always race to class.

The two took off and I reached down for Leyota's hand. When I finally got ahold of it, she didn't grasp on,
"Leya are you ok?"
She had stopped, and she looked as if she was frozen.
"I'm ok. I think my powers are acting up."

"It's ok. Let's go to class and we'll talk about it at home."
She nodded and I gave her a hug, my skin started to heat up at her touch. She smiled and grabbed my hand, walking with me to class.

------------
I watched Leya climb up the stairs to her room, as soon as she saw the bed, she plopped down and her wings popped out of her back. I chuckled and my wings came out, she turned over on her back and smiled,
"It feels good to let them out and stretch once in awhile."

"Your right."
I sat next to her on the bed and she sat up, running her fingers along my back tattoos.

"Corbyn, you got another mark." She said placing her palm against my back.

"I do?" I said.
She moved her finger along the mark and I sighed,
"One more year in counting."
"It's ok. I don't even know if I have back tattoos." She said
I got up and lifted the back of her shirt to find one little mark.
"You have only 1. That means it's your first year."

"I guess that's cool." She said.
I laughed and got up, walking over to her dresser. I looked in the mirror at my appearance, the same one I had for so many years. She hugged me from behind, I pulled her around me so I could hold her to my chest.

"It'll all be ok. Why don't we do something fun?" I asked.

"Like what Corbyn?" Leya never really wanted to praticipate in anything fun, she seemed more invested in being a good goody that anything.

"Josh Turner is having a party tonight, he invited me and told me to bring you along. I didn't think much of it but maybe it'll be fun." I said, wanting her to agree more than anything.

"I haven't been to a party in a really long time." She said
"Well then guess what, your in luck, we're going." I said, while giving her a smirk knowing I had gotten my way.

"What should I wear?" She said, her eyes moving from me to her closet.
"Casual." I answered.
She smiled at me and I laughed,
"What baby?" I said, grabbing her hand,
"I can't stare?"
"That's my job Leya. Accept it."
She nodded and I turned around, taking my shirt off. I grabbed a new shirt, while she watched from behind.

----------
Josh had invited me to events like this before, but I guess I just didn't like to hang out with humans. It sounds weird but it's hard to hang out with people who don't know the true you.

Leya was already in the car, her hair was put up and her expression hinted being nervous. I couldn't blame Leya, she hadn't done anything like this since she lost her friends back in Malibu. Wishing I had been there for her was understandable, if I hadn't been hiding all these years then maybe she wouldn't be in this state.

"Corbyn?" She waved at me with a worried expression. I then noticed that this whole time I had been just standing on the porch of her home staring at her.

"I'm coming." I said starting to walk down the steps. She looked gorgeous In those plain jeans and tank top. Leya had complained earlier about what she was going to wear so I told her to just dress comfortable. I twirled my keys around my finger and opened the driver side door.

"You ready?" I said. She nodded and I put the car in reverse, taking a deep breath along with it.
