Let me tell you, no one knows to what surprises they're going to wake up the next day. By the way my name is Liam and I was born in france during the 60s. Today I'm heading to throw a surprise party to one of my best friends Helmut. The day had past by and Helmut and I had spent the night after his party talking about what was life ahead of us. It was almost like Helmut could presence his death. He seem to talk as if he wasn't going to be alive for much longer, and he was right. I remember that day perfectly. I was barely waking up the sun hitting me in the face warning me I was late to work; when I received a call from Helmut's mom.Her voice dry almost as if she had been crying all night. With a dry voice she said, "Helmut is no longer with us". That day was a day like no other. I headed to what used to be Helmut's house to help her mom get rid of his old belongings. As we were getting rid of his belongings I found a box of shoes with two cassettes inside it. Each of the three cassettes Labeled forgiveness by Helmut's letter.

Cassette #1

" Hello my name is Helmut if you're listening to this castets is because I'm dead already". It might be too late to understand why I did what I'm about to tell you, but you need to believe me it wasn't my fault. That day I was trying to impress the wrong group of people. The biggest leader of a mafia group had offered me my dad's position Co-leader of the mafia crew. I hope you understand I needed the money. Me, my mom, and dad were about to get our house taken away by the bank. It's here where I tell you the crime I committed that change my life forever. By the way Helmut If you're listening to this don't let my mom heard this" .

I pause the cassette as Helmut's mom was walking in. I thought to myself what Helmut could of done that had him so traumatized this whole time he was alive? I thought I knew who he was, but I guess I was wrong. Mistrust Helmut's mom said, "Is everything alright Liam? Yes", I said as she left the room to go take a break from the last things that reminded Helmut's mom of him. So i played the last cassette.

Cassette #2

"Alright I don't have much time left but I need to tell you of the crime I committed". Once again Helmut I hope you forgive me. It was dark that day I was commanded by the leader of the mafia group to kill and old man sitting in a bus station. I shot the men without thinking, like a foolish little boy who thought everything would be alright after doing an stupidity. The men fell down instantly dying . I didn't even know who I had kill until days later".

I had pause the cassette because Helmut had started to cry as I what he had done had no name. I visualize myself in a movie because of how many things were going around me. I never understood how many secrets a men could hide, until that day. So I unpause the cassette.

Cassette #2

"Days later your dad was reported dead by some of my neighbors ". I knew I was a fool for believing It wasn't me who had killed him, but I just couldn't accept the truth. There were days where I couldn't even look at you...

I threw the cassette breaking it in two halves full of anger I could burn Helmut's house down with his mom in it. Helmut's mom ran up to me telling me what had happened. I screamed to her, "You knew it didn't you". I did Helmut's mom said, but before you tell me anything let me tell you the real truth. I couldn't believe to how many secrets I was surrounded by. That day Helmut did kill someone, but it wasn't your dad. Your dad had died years before any of this had happened the reason for why you don't remember this is because both Helmut and you got anesthesia and got your brains was to make Helmut think he killed your dad. Later on I paid some neighbors to say this because....She broke into tears. She then said, " the person who Helmut killed that day was his dad" I couldn't tell him the truth because I knew he would of killed himself as soon as he would of heard the news. It was hard for me at first sometimes I saw Helmut as a monster, but I understood it wasn't his fault, she said. All he was trying to do was help us, Helmut's mom said. Since that day that was the last word spoken about Helmut.
