Water sprayed my face from the shower. It was warm against my skin but I needed to get out. I stopped the water and grabbed a towel from the towel bar that hung close to the bathtub. As soon as I got out, I looked in the mirror. I'm Olivia Williams. A 17 year old that lost her mother to a car crash. At least that's what my father had told me. My sister, Chloe, is 19. We have moved around a lot since mom died. Dad always seems worried. He likes staying near the public eye. I've gotten used to it now though. I used to ask him what was wrong or why can't we stay put, but he always changes the subject so I finally dropped it. We live in a two story apartment now in Seattle, one of the most popular places in Washington. The weather is nice and cool up here. I was born in Orlando Florida, so the weather is mildly different. I have a friend here though. Her names Rachel. She's the only person I'm willing to get close to because I don't want to move again and have a bunch of friends I won't ever see. I met Rachel in Kentucky and we both moved here at the same time which was pretty cool. I stared in the mirror, and my green eyes reflected myself. My brown hair drenched from the shower.
"I need to get dressed... me and Rachel are supposed to meet soon," I muttered to myself. I fast walked to my room and threw on a black T-shirt, a hoodie, and blue jeans. I grabbed my keys and hurried out the door. My car is a 2010 Liquid Silver Metallic GMC Envoy SLE 4 wheel drive. It's old, but it still works.
I drove to Rachel's house, as rain thumped on my windshield. Her apartment was one story tall since she lives alone. She made herself her own legal guardian so she can live on her own. Her apartment was blue with white outlines for the windows and doorways. Her door had Halloween stickers on it for it was almost Halloween. I got out of the car, with rain splashing on my head and face. I shut the door before those pesky raindrops could get on my seat and tried to cover my head with my wet cold hands. I reached the door way which had an overhang I used for sheltering the rain. I rang the door bell and shortly after, a girl with blonde wavy hair that was the same height as me, answered the door.
"Hey!" Rachel exclaimed, wrapping her arms around me and gave a light squeeze. I hugged her back, breathing in her perfume that was still fresh on her hair. My "hi" was muffled when receiving this hug.
"Come inside it's cold out here," Rachel said, grabbing my arm and pulling me inside so she could shut the door. "You can hang your coat up there," she said, pointing at a coat hanger that was placed on the door of the closet. When you walk in, to the right is a closet and to the left, it's a small living room with a tv mounted to the wall facing the closet and a loveseat facing the tv, it's back against anyone walking in. A window seat was to the left of the loveseat with plants of many kinds. Walking forward, there's an opening to the kitchen and Rachel's room would be on the right. When walking into the kitchen, there's a small table for 3 people and a sliding glass door behind it. To the left of the table is an island counter. If walking out of Rachel's room and heading towards the island, the pantry would be on the left side of the island, and the sink/dishwasher would be to the right. On the other side of the island, there's a stove and macro wave and more counters. Walking past the island and standing in front of the stove, to the left would be another opening to the living room. Going through that, to the right would be a guest room and a bathroom down a small hallway.
I hung up my coat and Rachel led me to the kitchen. She sat down at the table with a wad of papers in her hand. I sat next her and we started going over lines. We didn't really need the papers since we memorized most of our lines. I'm an actress. We have a live performance coming up tonight and I had a hard time not showing my excitement. The play we were doing is "I'm not alone". Basically this girl, me, is being chased after by a bunch of bandits, because they think she stole something and this group of warriors find her first, then aggressively lead her to their camp where she gets trialed by the warriors leader Kiki, Rachel, and later becomes a badass warrior.
