"i wouldn't say it's love. i don't know what it is."

"that doesn't answer my question."

he glanced over into casper's eyes, who was looking into his.
"i think you're pretty cool."

casper laughed,
"thanks, you too."

"we should hang out sometime."

"we are hanging out."

"no, like, somewhere else, away from this place."

"like where?"

"i dunno. just like, take a trip somewhere."

"new york? paris?"

"sounds good."

casper stared at malakai, thinking about what he said before, as he continued rambling about all the places they should go together.

"spain, tokyo-"

"how do you see yourself?"
he cut him off.

"what?"

"is it me?"

malakai nodded.
"you make me feel safe."

casper smiled, then tilted his head.
"you don't want me to see you how you see yourself?"

"no, i see myself horribly and i don't want the one person who's like my escape to think that too like everyone else."

"thank you for showing me this side of you."

"thank you for believing in me."

casper's smile in the usual moonlight warmed malakai's heart.

"where else should we go?"
