Seán's POV
"Guys! Guys! A new game came out!" I say over the phone with my two friends. Felix and Mark.
"What is it?" Mark asks.
"It's called Come Little Children, sounds creepy, I've already installed it! Come over and we'll play it!" I say taking a drink of Coke from the fridge.
"Okay we'll be there in a minute!" Felix says and hangs up.
"See you soon Seán" Mark says and hangs up.
I grab the snacks from the pantry and grab some extra cans of coke and some bottles of water, just in case. Sooner or later I get a knock at my door, J rush to open it and mom comes over and greets them.
"Mom! We're going in the basement to play that new game I was telling you about!" I say excitedly as she hugs the boys.
"Okay have fun! Seán don't forget to give them their presents!" Mom says smiling, I nod and she kisses my forehead.
We rush down the stairs and we practically fall in our seats. I pick up the controller and open the game, "it even sounds creepy, and so cool!" Mark says fan girling over the game.
"Keep your nickers on Mark" Felix grins.
"Oh shut up! I'm just excited" he pouts.
"It's alright Mark, I'm excited too! And I'm pretty sure Felix is too" I smile as we start playing the game.
"Mark you read the narrative parts, I'll do voices and Felix you can just be the...uh...something" I say as I give Mark and myself roles but kind of left Felix out.
"Hey! Well I mean I don't mind. But, I could do like the puzzles if there are any" he says giving himself a role.
"Great! Now let's start playing" I say as we walk around in the game.
A narrator part comes up and Mark starts to speak. "As you listen to the rain fall on the gravel you start to remember the times you spent with your friends. Edgar, Sam and Tim..." Mark says stopping the reading.
"Sam, that's my little septic eye!" I say surprised.
"Tim is my little biscuit, Tiny Box Tim" Mark says starring at the screen.
"Edgar, my dog" Felix says looking at us. We all look at each other and then back to the screen.
"I don't feel so good about this guys" I say as we continue the game.
"As you enter Sam's old house, you walk down to his basement and look around...that's where you would used to sit, on the end next to Edgar" Mark speaks.
"But when we went into our senior years we all stopped communicating, we had been torn apart by school, we didn't have time. Edgar had met a girl named Maya, Tim had met a girl named Tina, and Sam had met a girl named Samantha" Mark finished.
"That's my girlfriend's dog's name!" Felix says looking at the screen then us.
"This is freaky, it has my old house, my basement, and it's raining right now! And it has all of our little figurines that we made in school" I say explaining our situation.
We continue to play the game, "woah Seán look out! There's...your mom?" Felix says alerting me of my mom in the game.
"What the fuck? What is happening?" I ask throwing the controller.
"You can't leave! You can only prolong the inevitable" Mark reads. "Guys this is getting too creepy for me" Mark says as he stands up.
We all run up the stairs leaving the game turned on. "Mom? Dad? Alison, Susan, Malcolm, Simon? Where is everyone?" I shout.
"Try calling them" Mark suggests.
I try calling them but it goes straight to voice mail, I tried all of them! "You guys try calling your family" I say putting my phone in my pocket.
They try to call their parents and siblings. "What the fuck is happening?" Felix says gripping his phone. He runs outside, it's snowing, and we're back in my cabin.
"Felix come back!" I say running out the door.
"He'll come back, he doesn't know where he is, just let him cool off" Mark says holding my shoulder.
"Call the girls!" I say quickly getting my phone out to call Signe, even though we're not together anymore, she's still my friend.
Mark calls Amy. "No answer" he says.
"Same here. I'll call Marzia" I say and dial her number.
The phone rings, closest we've gotten so far. "Marzia? Marzia! Some weird shit is going on" I start to say.
"He's the first" a demonic voice says and hangs up.
"Seán? Seán What is it?" Mark asks.
"It wasn't Marzia, and the person on the other line said he's the first...Felix!" I say and realise what the person was talking about.
Mark and I run and follow Felix's footprints, or what's left of them. "Felix! Felix! Where are you?" I shout.
"Felix! Felix! Felix come back!" Mark shouts too.
"I'm right here guys" Felix says smiling.
"Are you alright?" I ask.
"Why wouldn't I be?" He laughs.
"Well you ran off"
"I was just getting some fresh air" he says.
"Okay, but we need to figure out what the fuck that game is" I say and we start to walk back to my cabin.
"Mark wait. Come with me, I've gotta tell you something" Felix says suspiciously.
"We need to get back to the cabin guys! Fine. Don't be too far behind" I say and start to run to the cabin.
I get inside and it's been a couple minutes and the guys aren't back. The door swings open and there they are.
"Thank god! I thought you guys were dead! Jesus, we stick together from now on! No splitting up!" I say as I walk towards them.
I look at Mark and he's in a black and white suit. Felix is in his normal attire but his eyes are very blue, Mark's are fully black and red.
"You guys aren't Mark and Felix!" I say backing away from them.
"Of course we are! What are you talking about Jack?" Mark smiles.
"No you're not! You're fake!" I say and run up the stairs into Malcolm's room.
"Come on Jack, we want to show you something, please it'll only take a second" they say walking up the stairs.
I open the window and climb out, I slide down the pipe and hit the snow, I run out to my room further in the forest. I open my door and lock it, I pull the blinds down and start reading through my books. Game characters, computer knowledge, horror games, adventure games.
Black smoke fills the room with green sparks, something emerges from the smoke and the sparks. This isn't good.
