Colder than ice

shivers sped down my spine
deep shakes ensnared this body of mine
the shaking, slowly enslaving, taking hold
this event never could be foretold

freezing fits fastened in pace
damned feelings sent my heart to race
what was lost never, could be found
until it came unto the forgotten crowd

cold crept up, taking hold
my heart left empty by stories still untold
the missing pieces ever to be apart
my feelings still raw at heart

we used to talk each and every day
till the day you forever went away
you left my heart colder than ice
no feelings would ever suffice

grandad not long ago you were here
teaching me of dealing with my gravest fear
I learned to accept this one through the tears;
You are gone..., but if only you were with me a few more years
