Alexander was a scrawny young male. His mother was always working, never paying any heed. Father left long ago to wander the land. His thirst for adventure could never be quenched. One day his mother feared, he would leave her lonesome and sad. For she feared, that he would follow his dad. To meet the great beast that had taken his head.
"I shall never let him leave then!" Alexander's mother said one day, only to learn the storm had whisked him away. Alexander ran through the forest following a trail of three toed prints embedded in sand. He ran until he spotted a flash. Before he could find what it was, one million crows flew away fast. A thunderous boom had scared them away, for that was the dragon at play. The great white beast towered over the boy, before another great flash had ripped through the sky. Alexander ran fast through the forest that day. Away from the great dragon, away from his home and his mother abode.
He ran so hard and so fast, through three counties he sped. "Alexander?" a voice sounded, he froze. "Is that you?" it sounded again. It came from everywhere and nowhere at once. The voice swirled around him, it had him feeling feint. Alexander's vision faltered when a creature came through the brush. The creature dragged him away, not giving a hoot if its prey was battered or bruised. That's when a large shadow went over their heads. The shadow snarled a great booming snarl. The great sound terrified the creature it fled from the shadow and away from its prey.
The shadow landed and a great flash was seen the beast picked up the frail boy and smiled. Alexander awoke and looked at the dragon "please don't hurt me" he said, curling up in a ball. "Don't worry my dear" it said sweetly. "Your parents are worried, but for now you must rest for we shall arrive soon" it said at pecked his forehead. Alexander felt woozy so he rolled over and slept. Once Alexander awoke he was lying in bed. His room was much bigger and by far grander. He got off his bed and stumbled a bit. He walked round the room keeping close to the wall, afraid he would fall. A woman came in wearing a long silken gown. She looked at him and stared "Alexander! Your home!" she said, rushing over and wrapping him in a warm hug. "Oh how we missed you so" she said tears forming. It all came rushing back to him at once.
He had fallen in battle and recovered with a human woman. The woman grew greedy once she started selling the scales she found scattered abode. She was constantly searching for them, never letting him leave. He decided to leave one night tired of her greed, looking for others like him. He shed his wings long ago but he knew they would return. Alexander smiled knowing he was back with his family, back with his kind. A small framed girl was in the door frame watching over their joy and left with a swish of her hair, a large white scale being left where she stood. "Take care young Alexander and don't get lost again" she girl whispered as she left. "I'll see you again"
