Blood oozed from the open wound and drizzled down the stone. The sickening sweet smell of blood hung in the air. The man was dead, cut in the throat by a scalpel. However, even before that he was dying, his organs deteriorating from the acid. Everything was silent in the forsaken land, filled with nothing but toxin, poisonous plants, and dangerous animals.
Although, there was one other thing that lived there. Long bushy dark green hair, radioactive violet eyes, pale skin, and white wear. Lab clothes to be specific. The woman held a scalpel, she had killed the man.
Roxi sighed. A failure. The test subject had died. She felt no guilt, only disappointment. She would've felt guilty if the man had been innocent, a civilian for example. But, no, he was a ruthless pirate who served under the Kidd pirates, be had been separated from the crew. As someone from the Kidd pirates, he had undoubtedly committed various atrocities. There was no reason to feel guilty.....Still, as soon as Roxi saw the mixture turn to acid, she had slit his throat. Cold blooded murderer or not, no one deserved to live through that.
The pirate had been her last test subject. She used them for experiments with poison, chemical weapons, medicine, and antidotes, among other things...unfortunately, the medicine Roxi had made came with...unfortunately side effects. Now he was dead.
Roxi sighed, her violet eyes lowering in dismay as she scanned how the medicine had turned acidic. She'd need to find another subject soon. Hopefully Roxi wouldn't need to leave the island...she was in hiding from the world government. Deserting doesn't exactly go unpunished after all.
"You call that a medicine?" A voice sarcastically sounded in Roxi's head.
Her attention immediately snapped to the toxic looking lizard on a nearby rock. With hard scales colored electric blue, and spikes of neon red. A deadly species of lizard, capable of making poison that could bring down a sea king, if condensed.
And unfortunately, it had eaten the Shiso Shiso no Mi. The Thought Thought Fruit. It made the overly sarcastic lizard capable of telepathy and high intelligence. "Maybe I wouldn't have failed if you hadn't distracted me so much!" Roxi responded in turn.
"Any real scientist would be able to ignore distractions."
"Any real iguana would shut up." Roxi fired back. She never used to talk like this. Let's just say the lizard....was a bad influence.
"That doesn't even make sense, besides, I'm not even an iguana!" The lizard angrily boomed. His azure tail slapping against the rock.
Suddenly Roxi got an idea. A smirk tugged at her pink lips. "True....it'd be an insult to iguana's to call you that....A far more fitting name would be Unko Atama..." Meaning shit head. It was truly a fitting name for the toxic lizard---or rather, Unko Atama.
Unko's red eyes, seemed to go a shade darker. "Me, a shit head? That's gold coming from you, who didn't even know what a pretzel was until I explained it to you. But I suppose your head is so full of crap that it has no room for anything else..." Seriously, how did an insulated lizard even learn to talk like that? Aren't animals supposed to be all warm and friendly? Or rather, scratch that, how did it even know what a pretzel was?
A scowl tugged at Roxi's otherwise blank face. "Well Unko," She paused, she really needs to get a book of insults... Alas....Right now she couldn't think of one, so she relied on her best skill. Science. "If my head was full of shit I'd be dead, and oh look, I'm not!"
"....You need better insults."
Ouch.
Roxi felt as though she had just been damaged in some way. However, before the violet eyed woman could mend her chipped pride, Unko's, and yes, she was still calling him that, head snapped up. Roxi immediately came to alert. "What's wrong?"
