"Daddy I'm scared!" Lilly says with a terrified look on her face
Blake, Lilly, and Blake's cousin Amanda had been on their flight for four hours and they had just been told they were beginning their decent into Los Angeles airport. This was Lilly's first time flying and she had freaked out during take off. Blake had a feeling she wouldn't like this flying nonsense as he really didn't like it himself but this was gonna be a big part of their travels now so they both needed to get used to it.
"It will be ok Lilly. It's done really quick just like take off. Remember that didn't last too long?" Amanda tells her trying to help.
Blake hadn't known who he was gonna take with him to watch Lilly while he worked with Gwen. He had hoped his mom would decide to come but she had suggested Amanda and Blake hadn't minded that suggestion. He and Amanda had been close. She was younger than him but she was so much like him. They both wanted to be part of the music scene, she just wanted to be the roadie rather than the singer. He had taken her with him when he started the first time as his assistant and he planned on doing the same this time. She could help him and help with Lilly.
"That's right it will be real fast and daddy is right here and so is Amanda. Ok?"
"Ok daddy but can you hold me in your lap?"
"Princess I would but you have to stay buckled in your seat. It's the rules." He almost breaks watching tears start rolling down her cheeks. "Princess here. Let me push this arm rest up." He says moving the arm rest up and loosens her seat belt some pulling her toward him and into his side. "How is this princess? This is the best daddy can do. You have to be safe, ok?"
Lilly buries her face into Blake's side and Blake wraps his arm around her. To have been Blake's child Lilly was very tiny, probably due to her premature entry into the world. So when Blake wrapped his arms around her you could barely see her. Once they finally land Blake carries Lilly off as she refuses to let go of him. By the time they make it to the hotel Lilly is already asleep.
The next morning Lilly jumped on the bed while Blake got ready to go meet Gwen at the studio. He finished in perfect timing to eat breakfast. Amanda got the breakfast from the room service people and wheeled it into the living room area
"Daddy where are we gonna eat at?"
"I don't know princess. What about if we eat in our bed?"
"So it's like we get breakfast in bed! Yes please!" She says with a huge smile. "I like California daddy!"
Blake and Amanda chuckle as Blake gets Lilly situated on the bed with her food. They take the time to decide what Amanda and Lilly are going to do today and they decide that Amanda is going to take her to the aquarium. As Blake heads out the door to meet Gwen he tells the girls to have fun and reminds Lilly how important it is for her to be good and listen to Amanda. Once the door closes Blake can feel the excitement start. He is going to see Gwen again.

Gwen gets to the studio early this time. She couldn't wait to see Blake again and she finally decided that she was just going to go ahead and go rather than sitting there watching the clock. When she got there she took a minute to try to calm her nerves. Would it be the same? Or did she imagine the connection? She was there first which she was ok with; it gave her time to get her note pads out and her favorite pens. She was hoping to get one song done today so that they could show the label and see what their thoughts were. She was busy jotting ideas down when Blake walked in.
"Hey!" Blake said looking genuinely happy to see her
"Hey!" She says a little shy
He can't believe how beautiful she looks and the shyness only makes her look even more beautiful. He can't take it anymore and he walks over to her. She reaches her hand out to shake his but he ignores that. After the night they shared before thanksgiving they are past handshakes. He pulls her into his chest for a hug. At first she is tense but in a split second he feels her completely relax and melt into his chest.
