My name is Miranda Stevens, I'm 14 years old and I go to Alexander St.Louis Private School. I don't have a huge friend circle really, actually I don't really have any. I'm more to focus on my studies, I've been getting straight A's since grade 1 anyways. I have no time for friends really.
My parents are divorced and I live in a small Canadian town, Hallsville Ontario.
Anyways ill set the time, it's September 7th, also known as my first day of high school. I've been prepared for this day for a week. Backpack packed with pencil cases, binders and locker essentials and my uniform folded perfectly on my wooden oak desk. Today was the day.
I flip my purple bed sheets off of me and set my feet to the floor, I yawn huge and shake my head. Trying to wake up. I look into the mirror in front of me. My straight blonde hair was messy and frizzy. I shrug and head to the shower, stripping myself of my clothing and heading in the shower.
The heat hit my body and felt the slight tense in my back wear down slowly. I let out a sigh of relief and felt the stream against my face as I poured shampoo in my hand before massaging it onto my scalp. I feel the soap bubbles run down my back and continue with shampoo.
Since, I had to wear a kilt I decided it would be best to shave the night before so I had nothing to worry about. I quickly wash myself with body soap and turn the taps off.
I stand in the shower and sigh, then step a foot out and wrap my towel around me.
My room was across the hall from the bathroom, which was handy. So I crept across the hall and opened my big, brown door. I was greeted by my cat Stephan, like the French name, and I knelt down to him.
I scratched underneath his chin as he let out a loud purr. I stood back up and continued to my dresser.
I took the uniform in my hands and smiled, hugging it to my chest. I was so excited for this day. I put the uniform on and walked to the full sized mirror. I gasped, it was so perfect. The pleated plaid, white skirt went to midi thigh and the white polo shirt had a perfect fitted collar. It came with a black blazer which I had fastened a rose pin over my heart.
I went to blowdry my hair and let curls surrounded my face as I finished. The perfect hair for the perfect day. I put on some black eyeliner for my entire eye and black mascara. My blue eyes looked very appealing. I smiled and stepped out into my kitchen, a bagel with eggs, cheese and ketchup awaited me on the counter along with a large envelope.
I walked to the small island and pulled out the chair in front of the breakfast. The large, yellow envelope had Miranda written in cursive. A small jump of excitement hit me as I tore it apart.
Inside was two things, a new phone and money. Lots of it. Along with a little sticky note reading good job baby girl, you made it. Clearly from my dad at whom's house I live at. I smiled and pushed the new iPhone 5c in pink into my bag along with the cash into my secret pocket. I grabbed my bagel and walked to the door.
As I nibbled the bagel a small knock came to the door, Calvin Stewart stood there with a huge smile on his face. He lived down the road and insisted on walking to school with me since it was the first day and all, so of course I agreed some company would be nice. I opened the door and stepped out "hi! Are you excited? Ugh I'm so pumped." He said through his circular glasses.
Calvin had blonde short hair which he spiked up all the time, he also wore the standard uniform. A white polo and black khakis. He always reminded me of that kid from Meet The Robinsons, but I never told him that. He was dorky, but he was nice. "I'm very excited too, Calvin." I smiled. His face brightened "where are your glasses?" He said with a puzzling look.
I forgot that he saw me wear glasses, I never wore them in public usually but I thought he wouldn't mind. I had the "hipster" glasses aka the glasses everyone said were "nerd glasses" but i never saw it.
I pulled out my glass case "right here, I don't know if I should wear them" we started walking down my driveway and turned right onto the sidewalk, towards the school.
"I think you look stunning in them" he blushed and I smiled admiring at him. I didn't like him because I didn't know him, but I knew he liked me for years. We only started talking at the beginning of summer when I fell running past his house. He took me in and cleaned up my cuts for me.
I wasn't paying attention, but he was blabbing on about this new video game he was trying, I just nodded and smiled at him. I was generally a quiet person, so I kept that way. Still not listening to his rambling, I slipped my glasses onto my face and moved them to perfection.
He rambled on until we reached the front of the school. "Well I have to go, ill see you later Miranda!" He said running off to his friends, rambling to them about the game. But they were actually listening.
I pulled my time table out of my bag to see my locker, 6115 floor one. I walked to the wall that said 6. I walked slowly, looking at the numbers.
Ah, 6115. I pulled the locker open and rested my bag on the ground. I set all my locker things in and arranged my stuff in neatly. A shelf for binders, a shelf for paper and for pencil cases. I stand back satisfied when my door suddenly slams shut. A wide o forms to my mouth but I say nothing. "Oops sorry" says a girly voice, as a crowd of laughter follows. "It's okay" I mumble.
"Hey, you are actually really pretty." The voice says again, I look up to see who said the thing I've never heard in my life. "Ooh uh thanks" I blush. "I'm Kelli, Kelli Cline, you are?" Says a tan brunette with the typical hourglass figure and green eyes. "Miranda, Miranda Stewart." I smile, pushing the bridge of my glasses up. "Ooh nice glasses, very trendy" she smirks. I don't say anything but I blush again and open up my locker. I place a small mirror on the door and a collage of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark on as well.
"Oh you like Hunger Games?" Kelli smiled. "Oh yea, love it." I laughed. Kelli said nothing but she turned "hey everyone, look at the dorks little strange addiction!" She yelled pointing at the inside of my locker. People snickered and laughed and whistled the mockingjay tune.
I slammed the door shut and glared at Kelli who was surrounded by a group of preppy girls. She looked back at me and smirked then blew a kiss in my direction. I hate Kelli Cline, I hate her.
*Authors note: how does everyone like this as a start, I know it's not magcon like my fanfic, because I decided to change it up a bit! Hope you like! :)
