Brown and Blessed, Dark and Dreamy
This skin I'm in makes life uneasy, most days good but some not pleasing. Each way you turn there's another reason. A reason to hate, a reason to judge, a reason to be looked at differently because of my skin color, as if we don't bleed the same red blood.
I am not sad for myself, but I'm sad for those that do not see the beauty in thyself. I'm sad for those that allow the hate and judgement of the world to define thyself and their worth.
See, I must remind them, to be of Color with all this melanin I have total confidence. After all, I am Beauty with Brown, Blessed, Dark and Dreamy skin and I'm loving it. I am, A Woman of Color!
