Question- How did you feel when Squirrel flight sat by you and not Brambleclaw?

Flashback

I gaze half eaten mouse I had at my paws. Looking around camp, seeing a few apprentices tumbling in the dirt. Cinderpelt talking- nagging- leafpool's ear off, judging by the look on the slender she cat's face. Before I knew it, my mind was on her sister, Squirrlflight.

After being snapped out of my daydream, during which my eyes crossed, a warmth settled next to me.

I turn my head and see said ginger angel smiling brightly at me.

I must have looked like an idiot, gawking and babbling like a fish, inadvertently drawing a giggle from the she-cat across from me, her shoulders bouncing lightly,

"h-hi..." I stammer, finally spouting something coherent

"mind if I eat with you?" Squirrelflight asks, blinking her emerald eyes at me

"of course not! eh, how's Brambleclaw?" I ask dumbly

wanting to start a conversation

"Ugh! he's being such a selfish mouse brain! he found put he has a brother in Riverclan and he's being all buddy buddy all of the sudden!" she rants

"why is that bad?" I blink, flicking an ear and finishing off the mouse

"I don't trust him...he just seems to...have a weird air around him. You know what I mean?" Squirrelflight looks to me for assurance, she was obviously routing herself

I thought door a moment. The air around a cat does seem familiar. Like Squirrelflight for example. She has a light cheery air, while also a warm comforting one- when she wants to be nice that is- I inwardly chuckle at her fiery nature.

"Yes, I suppose I know what you mean. You have a good sense of right and wrong with yourself and others. You also have accurate instincts, if you just trust your gut and follow through then you can't be that wrong...and if you are then at least you can explain it"

"wow...that's really smart , Ashfur. Thanks!" she smiled

We continued chatting until the sun drifted past the treeline.
